Finally sussed it Paul - the part of the URL I was getting confused about was not a 1 or an l (small L), both of which I tried to no avail but a blinking IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII. Once I found that out the result is above.

That's the sun shining through the window which faces east Benn and it was still fairly low in the sky at the time the video was taken this morning.
I think the sunlight picked up and highlighted his glossy black head plumage.
Strangely I can identify him by his head markings - the white part at the back of his head under the edge of his 'helmet' is broken up making him look a bit unkempt in that area, but does help to tell Tommy from 2p when they are both in the box.
Hopefully got my video problems sorted now, I shall be posting anything interesting as the next two and a half weeks go by.
Good luck to all you guys out there waiting for eggs to be laid/hatched or even nests to be built - one thing about birds in the Spring is they are not always predictable!

Beechnut You can't help loving the markings on these birds can you? I always think they look regal in a way, don't know why perhaps it's the jet black plumage against the green & white . Anyway your little babes look as if they are getting enough food at the moment. It makes you wonder how any survive with all the birds looking for the same thing at the same time, all we can do is help out with the mealworm if they will take them of course.

Yes I think you are right Kathy, they do always seem to be 'well turned out'. icon_biggrin
As regards food, they are still providing 'natural' food from the trees and bushes. I keep topping up the trays with the mini mealworms that I got 3 weeks ago - yes they are still alive - but I've a feeling that larger garden birds are enjoying those, the GTs collect the odd one or two but not that regularly and the home made GT box feeders and the Scott feeders aren't even noticed.
I had a fresh delivery on Thursday ready for the rush as the chicks got to take larger stuff, so I've put what is left in the tin of the 3 week old worms out near the conifers for all comers that find it!

It's great you managed to sort out your video problems Beechnut - it was worth all the trouble you took to achieve this as the clip is wonderful.

Saw this last night - rather a large insect larva brought in by Tommy which needed to be reduced in size, but one of the chicks managed to down around three quarters of the original size!!

Well the starlings round here have nestlings because this morning when I opened the door to the garden, there were half a dozen on the bird table feeder and around the tin with the 3 week old minis and also attempting to get at those in the last year's new anti starling box.
Whether this will encourage the GTs to investigate the feeder boxes remains to be seen!

that your GT's will find the feeder boxes now the starlings are showing them the way. Nice little piccie of a "tightly knit family" - enjoy watching them & have a good Easter. Going offline now to have a sitting on my new garden swing & hopefully see lots of birds.

Thanks Diane and you too - mind you it sounds as if you are going to have a swingin' time, while I've got to cut the grass and cut the overgrow down the sides of the garden path.

Lovely pics Beechnut. My birds have also never taken to mealworms supplied - even when needed,as proved by last years nest, yet my son ‘steals’ my mealworms most years and his birds just totally rely on them. Obviously each bird makes its own choices re food much as we do. . Hopefully they will flourish with their own efforts as they very much seem to be doing. My hubby tells me off for buying them each year as he feels sorry for them - he says they have a horrid life waiting to get their heads bitten off or rotting in the midday sun and ‘cooking’ on hot days. He makes me feel really guilty . Sue
