My five have their eyes open and pretty much covered in feathers, including little tail feathers.

Wow Beechnut, do you think you may be in with a chance of a second brood of this pair, with it being early?! Or is it not early for GTs?

Elle xx Mine fledged last year on the 12th May and I expect these to go around 5th-7th May so they are not really much earlier - I think that most of the others are later than the norm. I did get a later nest in my Cherry Tree box last year at the end of May, but I don't think it was the pair from my Wallbox.

So cute Looks like the "Cheeky" one of the brood, You always get the one that isn't as shy as the others. Noticed this with ringing our blue tits every year, Will be 1 that doesn't at all care and isn't scared and wants to see what is happening outside! Looks like that little GT is one of them kind!

So cute Beechnut, you'll soon be wishing they were only just hatching again. Empty nest syndrome.

Just like human kids, taking advantage of Mum's nature of putting them before herself!

Thanks Sue - I used a different method to change the vid to MP4 and then using Youtube and did not notice the recording was set to 'private' (I assume). Went back in to Youtube this morning to edit the recording.
By the way I have put a photo of my adapted Scott Feeder, which is now starling proof, on the Food & Feeders section, if anyone's interested.

Mum is starting the mind games now - she's bringing in meal worms and not giving them up straight away, she goes round several gapes before letting go.
This will get 'worse' over the next day or so until she brings them in but does not feed any, just takes them out again.

Cruel to be kind, tempting them and encouraging them out. Guess it has to be done or they become too comfortable to want to go. Beautiful time, but then sad it’s all over for another year. Loving your videos. Sue
