Excellent! hardly any sparrows around here recently, seen the odd one or two but usually see and hear many more, a lone female did come to investigate my tit box that already has a bluetit nesting in it up near the eaves so I have invested in a sparrow terrace to go up there once the tits have gone, they need all the help they can get it seems. I hope you get the sparrows to use your terrace I can't make our sparrows out . They visit daily but no nesting material really. The male carries the same piece of straw around but they don't have any urgency about them. The great tits didn't visit at all today

No eggs yet as far as I can see and no laying behaviour early morning. Still bits of fluffy stuff going in. Sparrows are just messing about with the occasional bit of grass still and Great tits paying the occasional visit still.

So poor old Jack sparrow has been trying to entice a Jill into this box for a few seasons and one year we had almost a complete nest but nothing came of it. This year he has had a bit of success and I really thought he'd cracked it Today though things have cooled off again.

All looking good in your nest Sammi, be a lovely surprise to see how many eggs she actually has. Ann, made me quite sad at your teary face saying your used to having no nest now 💔. Wish we could all have successful nests one year. Like Sammi, every time I look at the coal tits nest I think of it as ‘yours’ Ann. Well you did claim it immediately. Sue
