Here we go again folks, so exciting to see the birds returning again. My boxes are all cleaned out and ready for the roosters! No changes for this season I think my set up is doing fine for now. I have two Robin boxes that are getting nicely buried into the ivy it would be amazing to get a Robin! Good luck to everyone I hope this Spring is a successful one for us all.

Hi Matt, nice to hear from you, I keep popping on to see if there is any news. Have you any roosters? I check every night but none up to now. Any changes for 2023 at your end? Good luck for a great 2023.

Good luck for a great 2023. As far as I know I still don't have any roosters - I never have had, strangely. Going to upgrade a couple of cameras and get a few last bits sorted soon, so once they are up and running again I will know for sure. Roll on the new season!

Been quite a bit of activity lately despite the cold weather, it appears I might have one established BT pair as I just happened to have the camera on and saw a male entice a female into the Rowan tree box, with lots of courtship behaviour! All good signs.

All good signs. Maybe the birds are as fed up as we are and have decided to cheer themselves up with a bit of nest hunting. Let’s hope the visits are a good sign Sue

Activity has been increasing the past few days, getting a lot of double visits to the Rose box and the Rowan tree box, probably by the same pair. Fingers crossed they pick one to raise their little ones.

Nest building rarely starts here in North Yorkshire until late April so got a while yet, but its fun watching them gearing up for it all. Good to hear you have double visits, hope you get lots of action this morning! I have just been sitting looking out in the garden watching a Wren searching for food, so sweet little bids.

Quick update from North Yorkshire. I am getting lots of visits from one pair which have increased massively this week with the weather coming milder, lots of fussing and tapping and nest wriggles, will update if things go further goodluck to all this season.

I think things will really kick off for everyone from the weekend / next week when we enter into April Karen and the weather improves Hi Paul. Visits have been crazy this morning concentrating on the tree box, I checked my notes and last year nest building began on 2nd April and year before 29th March so fingers crossed they may start soon, just never know with these birds! Still have to hope they choose my box

Brilliant Karen, Mine is like that she will bring loads in the take half of it back out by the end of the day but they know exactly what time they need to get "serious" by the weather, trees etc so they are a better judge than us!

I don't know why but this happened last year and this, but not in years before (same bird maybe??). Anyway I've never had a nest actually start proper before first week in April so now is the time. Mine has been bringing stuff in and out for 2 weeks so far and still hasn't really started..

My pair are still visiting daily to the box but not much farther on with the nest, whatever comes in is out again shortly after in other news I have a pair of Wood Pigeons or what we call them Stoggies in Yorkshire, they are showing interest on top of my pergola which has a Clematis growing over it, will keep you all updated on anything new.
