O just had to post this. The action this morning has moved to another box. I'm assuming it's the same pair but listen to his call. I'm sure he's saying "my birdie"

Its meant to heat up abit over the bank holiday Sammi, Think its going to be as high as 17c here by Sunday. Should get things going for everyone, That and entering into the second week of April. Seems Liverpool is the place to be for Easter. Our temperatures are not so good. Hopefully they will pick up enough to set the ball rolling if that's what's holding them back. I seem to remember there is a minimum temp they need to get the nesting hormones flowing.

Thats interesting sammi about the temperature. Getting warmer in the coming days so fingers crossed. I wish I could find where I had read it. I think I found it that year when a lot of nests were just abandoned mid season and the theory was the temperature had dropped so low that they just lost the nesting urge. If course I could have just dreamt it

Would you believe nest building would start in this weather I turned the cameras back on to find a nest was underway in what I call the patio box. It's been the one the sparrows have fought for over the last couple of years.

Here is Mrs with a bit of side view. She's not done much nest building today but has sat in the b ok x dreaming of better weather I think we’re all dreaming of better weather Sammi, all fed up with it now. We had a long heavy spell of hailstones here on the south coast today 🤷♀️. No wonder the birds are confused. Sue ps heading down your way next week so hope the sun shines ha ha

Well things are on hold here. No progress at all A couple of visits but they look confused The male picks up a bit of straw and throws it about whist looking up at the entrance and then the female pops in and just looks about and then leaves

Turn the volume down on this. Not sure if there is a new male on the block but certainly neither one was the female with the feather mite eyes. The one on the outside just was peering in. They are still around at least but the nest is still the same.

Officially given up hope now Well it's been warm today and if anything it's been quieter than ever One box has regular visits from a wasp who I think is pinching bits of wood for a nest somewhere, another has the spider who regularly catches a wasp or two, the box that was used last year has seen nothing recently and the one with a partial nest has had a couple of very quick visits by a couple of sparrows and one bluetit but only to hang onto the entrance. So all in all unless we get a second nest I think it unlikely we will have anything to follow. I will enjoy all your nests instead.
