Mine's added another egg since starting 'semi-incubating' yesterday, so you never know, you might get more!

Mine's added another egg since starting 'semi-incubating' yesterday, so you never know, you might get more! Yes, I am expecting one more, that is usually what happens, then the new egg will be the same temperature as the ones she has been incubating today.

Interesting to see the slightly different mix of materials in your nest compared to 'my' one. Although my BT female never seems to stop adding bits and pieces even now

The nest was very scruffy from the start, with large pieces of grass as the majority of material. our last blue tit nest, which was a good few years ago, was usually a lot softer than this one. Like yours she had still been bringing material in, I think she is a new mother π€·

Did she stop at 8 Taz. Our Dotty I think has stopped at 8 as she's been incubating most of the day.

During most of the incubation period the male has been missing. Mrs has not been getting fed so was out a lot feeding herself. A couple of days ago, I noticed she had been meeting up with Mr in the tree and they've been going off together. Today, he has been very regular in feeding her in the nest so I think hatching is close. I thought she had lost her mate, but all is well again, maybe Chicks tomorrow π€π€π

I've hardly been doing anything else today except watching chicks hatch and be fed, and looking at pictures of other people's chicks

Never say never Taz...one of my last 2 eggs hatched this lunchtime. 8 Chicks were visible for most of the day with a single egg remaining. I got back from shopping, about half 4 and the egg had gone. There are so many tiny pink bodies that constantly wriggle, I'm unable to count them all for survivors ππ€ͺ
