I am so excited to watch this Paul. Spring is really here. All gone quiet at mine but I'm telling myself it's the quiet before the storm.

She looks really quite bedraggled and feathers all messed up and the season's only just starting!

Its a mite problem Pete, She nested in one of my boxes last year. She looked even worse last year Our male blue tits got 2 females, Hes been doing the rounds with both females all day today, The other female looks a young bird. Our female robin is roosting for the first time tonight too, egg 4 today I think she will start incubating tomorrow egg 5.

Ah yes I think my GT rooster had a mite problem too back in July, when it appeared in the box with all its head feathers missing.
Your robin’s a few days behind mine in terms of roosting all night on the nest, so I think mine must still have a fair few days of incubation still to go.
Thanks for the tip about the shuffles. I’m only assuming it’s the male based on always being first in the box for all the double visits, and looking generally brighter and slightly bulkier than the other half of the pair.

Few videos of our second blue tit female, Males been doing the rounds with her the last 2 days. Looks like she is taking more of a liking to the Wall box plenty of visits by herself and nest wriggles, We will see she is in every box at the moment!

We have Robin chicks, 3 out of 4 eggs have now hatched. I know I am pretty quiet for this time of year but I have the BBC coming out to mine to film next week the boxes / garden / interviews so I don't know what footage they want to use of mine so i'll be able to post more after next week going to get in touch with the researcher and see if I can post my robin chicks though its driving me fucking crazy holding back on footage!

Looks like we’ll soon have to pay to be on the same forum as our famous Mr WildlifePaul. Longing to know what it’s all about. Think you were short changed by Spring Watch last time so hope the BBC realise they have a true celebrity this time Sue

Looking forward to seeing your robin footage, Paul. I've got lots of clips but lighting and angle mean only a few give nice results - plus being a trail cam it often misses the initial fly-in of the parent. Still fascinating to watch it all unfold though.

Thank you guys, Its not for Springwatch though, But it is about my camera boxes and how I got into it. I'll be able to tell you more after filming starts on Tuesday. Right now we have the Robin nest (4 chicks) blue tit nest (very slow barely any material) in the usual Tree box and we have the return of the Wren Female is currently lining the old nest from 2 years ago in the same box with feathers will it be a repeat of 2020 feeding the blue tit chicks? I don't understand why the blue tits are so slow this year, I normally have a fully build nest by now, I have literally about 3 pieces of moss and few pieces of straw very very late in the year down here maybe she knows something we don't Keep you all posted next week and catch up on everyones threads
