Sammi - Great news, Roll on spring! Diane, That was a misunderstanding on the rescues part. The new hoglet was eating off the dish I put out for the stray cats before having a nose inside the feeder so it was always eating. Feeders was busy lastnight, 6 different ones I seen on the cameras. Did a post on twitter so i'll just attach it to this, still got one hibernating in the entry way aswell he hasn't been out for 2 weeks now so he is well into hibernation.

Our second riverside gold house got a lodger lastnight, I now have two of these houses down both unused entry ways, Ones got an hibernating hedgehog in and this ones got a lodger after only being out for 2 nights. I think they like the entry ways, I don't know why but fingers crossed for two hibernating this year! Here's a video of her collecting hay.

Can't believe how fast this little hoglet is growing these pictures are less than 3 weeks apart and you can see the growth! Little video below aswell, You can see it in one of the feeders with a bigger hog still sitting in the food bowl to drink its water!

Last video of "Trouble" adding to his hibernation nest, He's not been out for 2 days now so he is now officially hibernating. This is the hedgehog thats been in the garden a few months and used to knock my cameras over all the time hence the name! I have two hedgehogs hibernating now this year one went down a few weeks ago now and now trouble won't be long before all visits stop when they all go down till spring

Little Billie will be big Billie I hope soon, do you know their rate of growth Paul or what is a healthy weight gain weekly, I havnt weighed him yet I really dont like to handle them until absolutely necessary, but I am hoping if he keeps going like he is and the weather stays good he will make the weight.

Paul for naming my & "Autumn" is a lovely name. I hope that when you weigh him & Karen weighs "Little Billie" they are both dumpy enough to survive the Winter in their new found homes with both of you.

They can gain up to 100g a WEEK if they have no problems Karen, Weight gain be alot slower if something is going on inside. My rescue told me if they aren't 450g by the first week of November bring them in for winter. If an hedgehog tries to hibernate at 500g its 50 / 50 if it will make it or not, If they are over 600g they stand a better chance! They're are going down to hibernation early this year I already have two hibernating, I did weight Autumn lastnight and its 482g so she should be 600g in no time! in other news PATCH IS COMING HOME!!!going to pick him up later, He is weighting nearly 800g now and been with them nearly 2 months, he was on treatment for ring worm lung worm and early stage of mange! Going to put him in my last riverside gold house and hopefully he will hibernate in the garden. This is the picture the rescue sent me this morning of his weight in can't wait to get him back

What we thinking of my hedgehog face mask? Since face masks are going to be the new normal for a while now thought I'd get a wildlife related one!

Wonderful news about Patch & it's great you've got one of your special hog houses left for him to hibernate in. I like your new face mask, it's great & I wonder if you'll see anyone else wearing the same one!

Patch hasn't left the garden since returning from the rescue, hes took to my last riverside gold house and been making his hibernation nest. I already have two hedgehogs in full hibernation now in 2 of my riverside gold boxes so looks like patch will make it 3! so pleased with that outcome.
heres a video of him leaving the feeding station!

so great to have all those hogs in your houses Paul. I have had no sightings of my hog for a while now and sadly my house has not been used for a while. Maybe I need to upgrade next year. I'll keep putting a bit of food out for a while just in case. Hope you are keeping well in Liverpool.

One of my autumn babies are coming home from the rescue next week, I am overwintering it in my house she is off her meds and the rescue is seriously full so asked if I could overwinter a few for them but I said i'll just do the one to start with and see how I go, I imagine it will be alot of work so don't want to bite off more than I can chew! But yes one is coming home to spend the winter in my house if I find it easy i'll over winter a few more in the coming weeks.
