Thanks Helen nice to see you on here again and that you have a nest! Been a funny year so far for all I think, mine started way too early but Flo seems to have placed herself in the correct window for the Caterpillars emerging. I'm sure this warm weekend will help get your girl moving. They don't really need that much time to build do they, all can be done in a flash when necessary. Hope you get to see that egg very soon. Sue - Don't worry about missing things I'm sure I have too but think we will both be forgiven don't you?

Hi Beechnut Yes Flo has laid her 3rd egg today. Interesting to note that she leaves the first two uncovered and the latest lightly covered, do you think she knows each egg as separate beings? It's my guess that she is regulating temperature of each egg differently for a short period until it's time to incubate. Andi (named after my window cleaner ) has brought in a brown grub for her breakfast. Last season the male was not quite so attentive I remember so I feel this is a new pair! Less of me how are your GT babes doing this morning, will you be buying mealies again as I remember they were mostly wasted last time?

Glad Flo is doing so well. Is your window cleaner aware there is a blue tit named after him? Was it him we had a discussion about last year - cleans the windows with his top off - or have I gone completely and entirely mad? . Sue

No you are not mad Sue, I have two in fact, one to do my upstairs & one to do my down - Chris & Andy! bless 'um always ready to give an old girl a treat. Both would be doing it with their shirts off today if it was a cleaning day. And No again he doesn't know as the other one would be jealous

Thanks Paul & Sammi hope you are having a nice day? Weather glorious and I'm making up a pair of men's trousers!!!!! Yes, nice to have eggs by all accounts! I have to make do with a Banana that's my sugar for today no choccies. Anyway Flo laid a 4th this morning and in consequence I've placed an order for Mealies. Last year I started earlier than usual and they seemed to find them& carried on when the chicks arrived. This year could be totally different of course Flo may not be a worm lover, but we will give it another go just in case.

Hi Kathy Pleased that Flo is doing her stuff for you - hopefully 5 by now and counting.... I'm sticking mealworms all over the place, even resorted to my really old plastic boxes in the conifers barely 10ft from the box, all to no avail. Tommy and 2p are finding food elsewhere. I'm not sure what to do next though, the chicks are about ready to move onto medium mealworms but I don't really want to order some (or even waxies) and they don't take them!

Congratulations to Flo on laying her 5th. egg! Sorry Kathy you had only a for your Easter choccies, but about your sewing - did you use a machine to make those trousers or sew by hand? Reason I ask is because I HATE sewing & have to do things by hand, hence my lovely Easter present from my husband. Fed up of shortening all my clothes 'cos I've lost 2" in height with age.

Diane Thanks for your comment, I use a machine for sewing. I have had a Singer for the past 3 years and have used it so much. I now have purchased an over locker and that has been more than useful. So hope you get on okay with yours. Taz You are so kind about my commentary but I do think I sound like Hyacinth Bucket, my voice tone goes up and down like a yo-yo and hubby says I am running out of scripts
Elle - I think we were neck and neck with eggs last year or was that me & Sammi? Anyway Andy the window cleaner will be gone to pastures new soon as his arm is now getting better so he can climb again. I shall still have Chris so that's all a girl needs really

Hi Sammi Most eggs laid 10 Least 7 Last two years 9 As Flo has 7 to date I would say this is probably the most we can expect. I would also say clutch size depends on two things ,food supply and age of bird, would you agree? I'm sure it won't be long now before we see a dancing banana & a pink cheer leader on your thread P.S I'm also pleased to report that Andi has brought a meal worm in for Flo who maybe sitting now (not sure) but she has been in most of the day.

Maybe she will lay egg 8 tomorrow Kathy and it will be her last? 8 is a good number for a brood.
