That is good Benn, So pleased you didn't put them off When is the latest you'd had nest building by a blue tit in your area Benn? Mine is late April but it was a second / 3rd female to the 1 male.

Thanks Karen & Paul. I have had then not building until early May up here, but they spend the prior 6 - 7 weeks in and out of the box.
Update: 15 mins ago the male then female went in. Just now she took the first moss in!! Looks like things are looking up. Just ordered another camera as the one I ordered from amazon isn't here until Saturday, Spy camera CCTV can get me one here tomorrow for £39.00. I will be ultra careful this time! I have made a replacement roof from one of my logs for the woodburner to act as a temporary one whilst I get the old camera out and the new one glued in! These will be black and white because of the lack of light but I do not mind!
Another two lots of moss just taken in as I write.

Thanks Matt & Diane. Yes Matt, it is pretty late in terms of having zero interest before hand. I usually see some interest by late March. Mind we did get a pair of Great tits some 4 or 5 years ago that turned up on April 5th and had a nest built and first egg laid two days later!
Its been a great birthday present for me today!

Cheers Paul, Here are a couple of photos I took of the box. In the second you can just make out the male. The camera was mis focusing. The fir tree and adjacent ivy attracts numerous sparrows, dunnocks and our robin. Our male seems to tolerate the sparrows but he is giving the dunnocks, robin and Great Tits a real hard time. He spreads out his wings and tail making him look very big!

Isn't it amazing how she's picked the box so low down? Maybe she likes the more nature box Benn.

Thanks Sue, yes Paul. I put it low down as Coal tits often nest low down and I have witnessed them nesting in holes under the ground previously. I did not think the Blue tits would take up residence. The hole is a small 25mm like my other blue tit box.

My DVR alarmed a couple of times this morning, thought it was feathers blowing about in my wall box where the male BT has been roosting over winter. But no it was the starling box. A few visits this morning from the male starling who is singing his heart out in the nearby cherry blossom tree! Fingers crossed he attracts a mate.

I've been trying to master the recordings on my DVR. After much faffing getting around the lack of compatibility of Hikvision software with macs and newer versions of safari I have eventually been able to view live and playbacks from my boxes on my MacBook. I have attached a clip from todays Starling visit below. Also whilst perusing the alarms on my other boxes I came across one from last Wednesday showing a visit of a Great Tit to my side box. Alas there was only one occasion he came in and he has not been back since.
On the topic of the faulty camera....today I received two Sony effio 720TVL cameras. To much wailing I find that it was not the camera but the blooming cable that's somehow gone! So I've had to temporarily use the cable from the side view box to get pictures from the log box. image is not too bad considering its a 420TVL and has little light in the box. The third video is my first view of Mrs Blue tit in her log box!

Cheers Paul. Now going to order some more cables. Might be tempted to install a sparrow box like yours high up at the side of the house opposite to where three sparrows are nesting in next doors house.

You should do Benn, Its just this one off CJ Wildlife - www.birdfood.co.uk/denton-32mm-nest-box.htmlI had a few of them back in 2015 / 2016 and had blue tits using them aswell show you some pics below. I only have the one now which is for the sparrows, I just took the roof off to put the camera in then knocked all the nails out and put screws in to make it easier made a little gap for wires to come out under the roof etc. My little sparrows seem to love this box, I don't know why but they do so I'll never change it now. Abit like your starlings benn, The sparrows now my "regulars"

Yes, thats the one I have my eye on Paul £19.99. Going to order 5 made to measure cables from spycameracctv..aka green feathers, this will mean I have the open box, and watering can and sparrow box on the 16 cam DVR, leaving another 4 channels for extra swift or other boxes. Just a word if you order from the spycameracctv site, its cheaper than green feathers. Also if you ring up and ask they waive the delivery fee and provide next day delivery.
