Hi Everyone Our nest box is up & running, blue tits have started bringing in nesting materials about 2weeks ago but for some reason she sometimes takes out nesting material don’t know why trouble is would you believe it at this crucial time my camera is no longer working have taken camera of the nest box yesterday evening & it works with a new input cable so there must be a fault on the outside main cable going to the nest box so not going to change the cable now as the birds have started to build their nest so once again why do you think she is taking out nesting materials after bringing nesting materials in.

Its pretty normal behaviour, Female will time everything perfectly. When they bring material in and take it out, Its because she isn't ready to crack down. Normally happens when they start "early" like mine did this year, First material came in 12th March. She's been removing material daily sometimes filling the full box and emptying it completely bare! She only really settled down a few days ago shes not started lining the cup today so she is settling down and she knows its time. Wouldn't worry about it too much it happens every year!
