Looking good Sammi! I wish it was easier to tell these birds apart, but I have to say that nest wriggle looks very promising!

Oh Sammi, Maybe its 2 females 1 male?! I must admit though my two are well into nest building and still visiting my other boxes. I am beginning to wonder if they do this incase they get disturbed from the first nest during building so they have back up in mind and can get straight on to nest building in the new box? Just an idea of course. Just very strange behaviour to still be visiting other boxes while nest building is in full swing.

Thanks Sue,Matt and Paul. It is strange......but maybe just a case of checking out another place 'just in case'. I can see both boxes from the kitchen window and I haven't seen signs of territorial aggression whilst I've been watching....so maybe it is one male with two females. I've got synchronised playback on the footage so I just need to catch them in both boxes at the same time I seem to be spending a lot of time washing up these days

I caught a great tit checking out my new Robin wicker type nest box this morning. I suppose it might mean they are still on the look out for somewhere to nest....or it might have been looking for food amongst the ivy. Meanwhile I had another very long visit from a bluetit in my garden nature fence box. Lots of tapping at the entrance from the inside, nest wriggles and all corners of the box checked out. There was also one looking in at the same time. I watched from the kitchen window and saw one bird having a quick peek hanging on the front of the Boxwatch box and then it flew across to the fence box. So the mystery continues. I did catch a bird in each box at the same time on the synchronised playback but it doesn't prove anything really. Nest building continues in the Boxwatch box.

Thanks guys....who knows. I'm going crossed eyed in the kitchen trying to see what is going on. The trouble is there's a lot of shrubbery in between the boxes so if a bird flie in one side there is no guarantee that the bird who appears from the other side is the same bird

Oh Sammi I don’t know why this cracked me up, I envisaged ‘Cher’ going in the bush one side and ‘Shirley Bassey’ coming out the other side (Tonight Mathew I’m gonna be......)!

Sammi Bee's do love boxes don't they? the birds cope with them magnificently though they seem to stay out of the way until they've left. Hopefully it won't come back again once a nest is up and running!

Thanks Karen ...a video would have shown the beauty of it better. Was exactly like a snow globe Hi Kathy ...yes they visit my boxes quite often ......I think they just have to check out every nook and cranny for possibilities. They never stay long but so beautiful to watch

Thanks Sue and Paul. Still building nest in the cold conditions. I've got a great tit helping herself to the wool I have out at the moment....so they are nest building somewhere but not at mine. Still just happy to have the BTs so not complaining.

Things have slowed down in the nest building but there was another visit to the fence box today including a wriggle and lots of tapping on the door.
