She definitely thought "I'll show you SueP slagging me off on forums" Does look a cosy nest, I still find it funny how you are getting a blue tit nest on camera in the place you thought it would never happen!!

It's looking so cosy. Don't the extra holes give a lovely light on the nest

Thank you all for your comments.
You are right Paul, I think she does know what I’m saying cause every time I say something she proves me wrong. Actually going to try this and see if she takes any notice - here goes - “she isn’t roosting in the box yet”, is that anything to worry about? . Still can’t quite believe she is building a nest in such close proximity to us. Never, ever believed it would happen here of all places …………….. Still keeping everything crossed though.
Sammi, had it made with extra holes because the birds so loved my 3 hole concrete box. Think the adults like it cause so much more practical when feeding etc - never get in one another’s way .
Sue

Wow! such an advanced nest Sue. Our birds have broken off. Even the nice weather over Easter came with freezing minus 2C nights up here on the hills. Now we have torrential rain and hail stones and gale force winds with heavy rain tomorrow!!! I reckon it will be late April before ours start to build now. Good that you have a serious pair!!!

I am taking nothing for granted Benn, I know anything can go wrong so just playing each day as it comes, with fingers and toes crossed. We have very unsettled weather forecast for this coming week with high winds so just hope all stay safe. Good luck with yours and keep us informed of any updates. Sue

Little update. Seems the female is quite intelligent, the last two nights of very heavy winds here she has spent in the box😊. Still bringing in soft material but no sign of eggs yet, and a little worryingly I haven’t seen the male in attendance for a while. Am hoping he is just letting her get on with things and is still around . Going to be away next week so won’t know if any eggs until I get back which is going to be very frustrating, but have to keep hubby happy and at least it keeps him off the balcony . Sue

Aw Ann, that’s so sad. I know that feeling so well 😢. However with the year how it’s been you may well get a surprise yet. Sue

Hi Sue What's happened to the warm weather? I hope you have found a warm place to stay. Certainly where we are the temperatures are still a bit disappointing. Enjoy your holiday

Hi Sue What's happened to the warm weather? I hope you have found a warm place to stay. Certainly where we are the temperatures are still a bit disappointing. Enjoy your holiday Hi Sammi, first day here a couple of sunny hours in the afternoon. Sunday, mainly dull and cold. Monday, dull in the morning but did get and hour or so of sun in the afternoon but not what I’d call warm. Today we went to the Minack theatre in the morning and it was freezing and windy, this afternoon in Porthleven was sunny and warm 😃. Not the warm weather we had been promised by the forecasts, but maybe, just maybe it is getting warmer. Cornwall is a big county so obviously may not be the same where you are. Still enjoying being here but missing seeing what is or isn’t happening with my birds at home Sue

Hi Sue I am glad you are enjoying your stay despite the weather. Sounds just like the weather we have been getting in the Falmouth area. It's a strange thing the weather can be totally different within an hours drive. The Minack is a stunning place but you need good weather for the evening performances Hope your nesters are planning a nice surprise for your return

So sorry for a nighttime image but just got back from Cornwall and could see nothing in the nest box until the female came in about half an hour ago, did a lot of digging and panting (sort of) then suddenly jumped off the nest cup to reveal two eggs for sure and a possible third under the left hand one (it looked like an egg but as she flew a feather has obscured it and image not very good so will have to wait and see) However, very excited to come home to this. Sue

Thanks Ann, Pete, Paul and Sammi. You must all be relieved after all my moaning over the years . Nothing to report this morning as everything covered, as I would expect. Just so happy that I am finally able to see things from the inside instead of a lot of guesswork as to just what is going on. Wish everyone had a nest though, as we all wait so long through the year for this to happen. Sammi, think hubby will never be ‘hooked’, but he will be pleased when he can have his balcony back - I keep saying ‘it won’t be long now’, knowing he still has a good few weeks yet . Sue

So pleased things going well for you finally Sue - at least no trailing leads over the garden! We will be watching inside the box now.
Milly seems very agitated on the nest this morning, I reckon H Day is approaching. I'm linked to my TV this morning so I can watch all the time, although not recording yet, so it will be luck if I get to see the first egg to crack! Got all my stuff out ready to connect up, but Somebody's law says I'll miss the first egg hatching if I switch off to change over the connections.

Thank you Beechnut, I am thrilled but still cautious in case things go wrong. You are right , the hatching will happen when you are not looking or when you change connections - always s**ds law . I truly hope you get to watch, a magical moment. Keep us informed. Sue

A little treat brought in by Mr Bluetit whilst I am sure laying was going on as same actions as last night at same time. Then leaving the nest to expose what ‘might’ be more eggs than I thought. Can’t get a clear image yet. Tempted to put the light on , but as I don’t have the camera on all the time I am worried that the on and off of the light will put them off. Sue

I’m not sure Ann. I definitely saw four clear eggs today but , like you, I think it looks like more. I guess I’ll have to be patient and hope I get a clearer view. Sue
