Book me an appointment to view Sue, I'll go undercover for the day and say we are looking for places for my nan, Ever since she moved her flat its been robbed the neighbors are loud and she is at her wits end with the place she needs a nice bungalow so shes away from it all! Sound like a plan? Dorset here I come! Oh Paul you crack me up , you are such a brilliant person and such a sense of humour but also full of caring and consideration . GBH, yes, not looking towards the whole selling/buying thing. Wish could wave a magic wand and it was done with - hate all the stress. As you say though, a new adventure. None of you will get rid of me though - box or no box, I will still be putting my five eggs in (so to speak) Sue

Hi Ann, we are about a 20 minute drive from the coast, a very busy traffic area in the Summer. I am not going anywhere as far as this forum is concerned, just thought I better make it clear that may not have a nest next year because everyone was starting to say sort of ‘could be your year next year’ when I knew it most probably wouldn’t be and was difficult to answer other than explain why. I will of course be keeping my eye open for a large balcony or some sort of area where I could hopefully hang a Bird box but will have to see. Staying on here throughout so nobody gets rid of me that easily Sue

Oh Sue, such a shame that thou didn't get a nest. I'm keeping everything crossed though that you find a flat where you could place a box. Just outside of your balcony I think 😀. Wishing you good luck in finding such a place 🤞 x

Good luck with the move Sue and hope you find an apt or flat where you can put up a bird box. Looking forward to hear how it works out for you.

Hi Sue, sorry to hear that you have to move when you don't really want to. Like the others, I wish you all the best trying to find a flat whereby you can have a nest box of some sort. Are you looking for one still in Dorset or further afield? My Big Bruv (Scribe on the old forum) moved from Blandford to Winsford to live with his eldest son in 2004 when he retired, but he died in 2015. I was very upset when I found out that my sister-in-law died on the 1st May this year in hospital & although 20 people were allowed to attend her cremation, safe distance of course, we couldn't go as hubby is on the at risk register. A further shock to find out that my nephew has put the house on the market & intends to move back to Dorset to be with his younger brother, who still lives in Blandford.

Thanks all, just to put the record straight - I am not being forced to move into a flat/apartment, we have been talking about it for some time. Both getting older and too much work here. That is why this year I was hoping for some success in the bird box. Obviously I will be looking for a good size outside space and/or balcony but have to see. I didn’t mean to make a big deal out of this it was just I couldn’t answer when everyone was saying ‘hope it will be your turn next year’. Yes, staying in Dorset , although have lived in the Far East (during hubbies service time) also many years in Devon, and Cornwall, but Dorset is where we were both born and where are family and friends are, so here we will stay. We were in Blandford just a couple of days ago Diane, lovely walk along the river. Very sad about sister-in-laws funeral, Diane, dreadful time for all funerals at the moment Anyway, enough of me and my possible move, let’s get back to watching the rest of these birdie families fledge. Some great footage on here this year. Sue
