Paul, Ann and Matt thank you so much - probably she’ll take it all out again tomorrow but shows she’s interested. Sue

Thanks Amanda. My rooster was not happy when he arrived in the box tonight. Guess he didn’t know this was about to happen and maybe he’s about to get ousted . Sue

So so pleased for you Sue. You deserve a nest you can view this year after all those years of not knowing what was happening inside your boxes. Everything crossed for you and nesting material too. Great news👍🤞🤗

Thank you for your good thoughts for me Paul. Really hope the nest progresses Paul, but bit worried about my rooster as I don’t think he is anything to do with this female. Hoping he leaves soon as with material coming in he will be soiling it. Can only wait and see I guess. Sue

Well, I am a bit perplexed. After my excitement things seem to have come to a standstill. I have been having visits every day but no new nesting material has been brought in and am sure it is two different couples viewing the box - or at least two different females. Saying this because one has a dot on her face and the other doesn’t. I only noticed the dot a couple of days ago, but looking back at my clips the female that has been doing the cleaning has not got a dot . Even with a camera I don’t know what’s happening . Just hope someone continues to build. Sue

Thanks Karen, so do I . The one without the dot has been in a few times today so am guessing the one with the dot(only noticed when Paul mentioned his) was just a visitor. Have to rethink names if this pair continue with the box. Can’t call her Dot when she doesn’t have one Sue

Well, i’m getting serious now - does anyone know how to kindly oust a rooster? I know my rooster is nothing to do with the pair that are interested in my box. Female is still cleaning poo but her visits have dropped off and at best she just pops in once or twice a day. She doesn’t stay and she is not bringing in any more material. I really am thinking that the rooster and his continuous poo is beginning to put them off. HELP. Has anyone else got a rooster that is nothing to do with nesting? I know I have to leave nature alone but am really getting desperate. Can I put up a ‘let’ sign or something . Feeling like my optimism for a nest is draining. Sue

Hmm, Isn't really a way to Sue, Unless you spook him by opening the box when he comes in to roost or something. I normally just let them fight it out when the time comes.

Oh I'd be the same Sue...I'd be thinking of all kinds of ways to 'intervene'....but wouldn't eventually do anything of course. Hopefully, the needs of this female & her nest will outweigh the needs of this "non-affiliated" rooster and he'll just head off. From what I see from past posts on this forum, the male roosters do seem to leave around this time of year anyway, as the weather gets more mild. Maybe he's just waiting on his lease to formally expire so he can get his deposit back.

Thanks Paul, yeah know not really anything I can do. Just frustrating. Not had a visit at all this morning, not even to clean . Thinks she’s getting put off and don’t blame her. What will be will be I guess. Sue
