Quote: Diane I love sharing! By the way how's the sewing going?
Not well at all Kathy - cloudy, cold, dismal days so not sitting on swing sewing!

Hi Helen 6th chick hatched at 8pm last night but 3 eggs still not hatched. Tomorrow will be the 14th day so if they don't hatch by late tomorrow think they won't because of the long gap; but I've been wrong before! Flo been in the nest most of the day because it's poring down so she's probably been cooking the three as well as the chicks! See what tomorrow brings. How are your brood any news yet as haven't had time to read all new posts and must dash now more paperwork!!!.

Great news Kathy on more hatching & going by what you've said, the last one may hatch later today but if not, then tomorrow. Good to read that the caterpillars are surviving being washed off the oak leaves too.

Like the others have said already, I hope everything is OK with you? Probably you're very busy with work as I know what you and your husband are going through with your business, if so, then your absence is understandable. I hope you can check in soon & update all of us waiting in anticipation.

I privated messaged Kathy a few days back now, Not heard nothing or she hasn't been online. I was abit worried by her lack of posts myself, I am hoping its due to her being busy though! And nothing serious. Hope you haven't abandoned us Kathy

Thanks all for your concern I have been poorly for over a week with my usual complaint I am on steroids and whatnot at the mo. Bit behind myself with the nest and Flo. 9th chick hatched 4 days after the 8th chick. He has been fighting well to hold his place in the food queue from what I can deduce from my recordings surprised he is still with us. The others are thriving thanks to my hubby putting food out every two ours until roosting time as well as caring for me, what a fantastic man I have in my Ken! Due to leave the box bank holiday weekend. Concerned though that the chick who has been named 'BABE' is developing very slowly and is still pink apart from some pin feathers on wing tips and we wonder if he will be kept back from the others at fledging time. Anyway we shall see what transpires in the coming days. Cannot promise I will be able to post a video depends how long this flare up will take, it has taken me quite a while to type this as I am in my bed with comp on my knees!! Speak soon hope all of your nests are okay. Will catch up when I am better. Kathy x

Good to hear from you Kathy, Hope you get better soon, Keep yourself in bed and make sure that hubby looks after you! x P.s 2 of my chicks are 3 days behind the others, You can tell the difference between the 5 born same day and the other day. Seems to be abit of a theme on here this year late hatching eggs.

I'm sorry too Kathy that you've not been well and I hope you will be on top form again next weekend to watch the big 'fly away' of your chicks. It's kind of you to struggle to update us with your news too, so for that & also to Ken for looking after you & your bird family.

Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad flare up Kathy, hopefully once the steroids kick in, they’ll get you up and about just in time for your fledging Elle xx
