They seem to be running everyone round in circles this season Karen no matter where you live. I think that if we get a warm April things might pick up for those still waiting to see some action. I noticed in the garden of our rented cottage in Yorkshire the Sparrows were only just looking at a nest box which was attached to the kitchen wall & trees were still brown so BT's could be another 2 weeks away yet before they kick off?

Speck and Boulder are visiting next door a lot this morning, not seen nesting material go in yet though, here is the view I have, the shed is next doors just sticking up behind the shed is some honey suckle branches the nest is just below this on the fence, they tend to land in the Rowan tree then drop down to the fence and box, it is only some 7 feet or so from the one used in my garden last year by Chico, separated by a partition fence only. If you look closely you can see Boulder in the tree.

Boulder has just been in the tree box and lured in a different female it looks like she had been through the mill a few times and she wouldn't win any beauty contests, he was doing all his flirting aerobatics and she did go into the box momentarily. I will keep you all updated if any thing comes of this new women.

That's the problem Karen! Every time you think you have come to terms with nothing happening, they pop up and get the hope going again!

Everything crossed here for you Karen. It is an awful feeling not to get a nest. I had a couple of years with no takers and I know how really awful it is. Hope Boulder gets his lady to get cracking on a nest.

So this is my new acquisition for 2020. it will replace the tree box as it has a hole that will accommodate GTs as well. It is a great design as it allows me good access to the interior via the removable front for cleaning, I have also been able to get the camera bracket on, it was fiddly but not too bad, need to drill a hole for cables out the side under the pitch. It has generous proportions ins ide so hopefully I can do a bit of interior decoration

Really not sure whats going on with the BTs at the moment, Boulder has been showing a new female the tree box and she has been in a few times, no nest wriggles from her though, meanwhile Speck who originally liked the tree box but then seemed to go for next doors box and still does go in there, but she has been back to the tree box quite a few times this morning and doing lots of nest wriggles and also clearing up after Boulder, well not getting my hopes up as they are so unpredictable! here is Speck cleaning up.

I’d say this is a very positive sign for you Karen, the fact she’s cleaning the box and nest wriggling is only a good sign! You’ve never seen her nest building her taken material elsewhere so I think a nest could still happen for you! Got everything crossed for you

Just dont want to even try to imagine she will build for me as things seem to change so quickly. But she is showing some interest so who knows. At least the box has had a good spring clean, it was beginning to get a tad mucky. I meant to mention she went in without Boulder luring her in, he waited outside while she did her thing, while with the new female he has to do the whole follow me thing and crouch for her to come inside.
