Isn't it a shame how if they don't pick your boxes they still guard them and let nobody else near?!

My son has the same problem Amanda. A pair of blue tits had been in and out of his box since early February, then two weeks ago a pair of great tits put up a fight and the blue tits left. The great tits are not using the box just looking at it now and then so what is that all about ? Sue

I’ve just have a bit of activity in my tree box! Double visits and even wiggles! I am certain this isn’t the female from nextdoor

Amanda!! Maybe this will be your "Late nest" Isn't it funny how this activity as happened since you put mealworms out aswell? I remember natalie suggesting her early laying was due to this, I wonder if the new female as been using the worms and is more settled on having a late brood now knowing you are supplying live food? Just an idea. But I am pleased for you, Matt get them mealworms out! P.s do you have an led light in this box now? Colour is looking AMAZING!

Those wriggles look really promising Amanda! Never say never, eh! Dunno about mealworms Paul, all I managed to do last year was feed the starlings - I could never get the bluetits to use the feeder I made!

Thank you, Yes Paul, I put an LED in on Bank holiday Monday, late in the evening. I wasn’t sure if my POE camera would power it, but it does. I have 2 out of 3 installed at the minute. I moved the camera a bit too much to the front though. I definitely prefer the side view as I can see the entrance and the inside. I am in the process of making one to replace this box the Autumn

I have just bought a mealworm feeder Matt, I only put it up yesterday evening. The starlings wouldn’t be able to eat them Mealworm feederI got 10% off with a code I found on the net, (UKAFFMAM19) added 500g of mealworm so I could get free next day delivery.

Looks very promising from where I'm sitting Amanda, we wait with baited breath. And what are you doing with my mealworm feeder!!!! it's the only one that will keep the bigger birds out.

Quite a lot of activity this morning once the wind and rain had eased a little. i have had very long visits from the female, she has been preening herself. The male has been bringing in catapillars and mealworm for her I have even had the pair in the box with another blue tit poking its head in, I suspect it is the male from next door!

Oh so hope this comes to something for you Amanda. Never seen this sort of action as don’t get lucky enough to have any blue tits in my camera box. Looked like the male doing the shuffles etc, female looking most bemused. Or am I totally confused. Sue
