Thought I’d share this good news Well, I’m pleased to say that a 10 acre piece of woodland behind my house have been given a TPO & wildlife protection order after many years of residents fighting to stop housing being built on it. We have Silver birch, willow, hawthorn & some very large, very old Oak trees, which are under the order, so I’m well chuffed Also the wildlife is beautiful,! Deer, Foxes, Badgers, lizards, bats, owls & cuckoos, birds of prey. There is also some swampland which obviously attracts other wildlife. I’m so so excited, as you will understand that I live in a city (albeit outer centre) but still a great result for us residents who enjoy lifes’ nature. Elle xx

That is good news Elle as they built houses at the back of us last year, dug up 4 huge alder trees behind our back fence which gave shade to the garden in the heat of the afternoon. I can no longer sit on our seat which used to be in shade, too big to lug around, so I have to sit on a garden chair in the shade of the side fence.

Trees can be most useful Diane, other than what nature intended. I am just so excited at the thought of more wildlife, over the years we have seen so many fox families taking the same route outward bound and then bringing their young back on evening for bedtime, and roe deer walking along without a care! And all by looking out of my kitchen window Elle xx

Wonderful good news. I'm so pleased that wildlife wins on occasions over our mad planning laws. It sounds like a beautiful spot you have there
