Well, obviously I can’t be sure but I think incubation is under way . Been watching for about 45 mins when she popped her head out for a few seconds then pulled head back in. About 30 mins later out she popped (comfort break?), and back in after about 10mins. That is looking promising to me. Unable to watch next couple of days so hope I am right. Sue

Hi Ann Beechnut, Paul and Elle, sorry not replied quicker had to have little op, but home again now. All seems to be going well, looks as though incubation taking place, all the right signs. Not much to report at this stage. Am definitely getting a wildlife camera ready for next year to help with all the frustrations . If only they’d use my camera box there would be no such issues - very inconsiderate of them. Will try to dust off the camera ready for the feeding and fledging Elle. Sue

Hello Sue, good news about your birds & that you are back home after your little op - take it easy until you are completely better as a lot of males I know ignore strict instructions to do nothing for a certain length of time.

Thanks Diane , yes got a good excuse to sit and watch the birds for a few days now lol. Not that there’s much to watch at the moment, but at least I know things are still progressing ok. Sue

Hi sue great you are back home after your little op. A great excuse to watch the birds even though there is not much happening. Like you i hope to have a nest box camera up and running for next season or before the winter sets in.

Thanks Kevin. I have a camera box but birds in my area must be camera shy cause they always choose a box without a camera. Only time I had anything in the camera box was sparrows and they built a domed nest so I still couldn’t see anything The wildlife camera I want to get is so I can set it up outside to see what is happening when and if they choose the non camera box again. Save too much guesswork . Ha ha, thinking about next year already, we really are a crazy bunch Sue

Sue I like the idea of a wildlife camera, as you can place them wherever in garden and check them at a later date. Do you know which one you are purchasing.

Thank you Kathy, Kevin, Ann and Sammi. Not actually had a lot to watch, even though i’ve Had the time. However, did have a fright when I saw a ginger cat sat on the wall right above the box. I shot out there rather quicker than I should have . Don’t know where the cat came from and have never seen it before- don’t want to see it in my garden again either. . Kevin, no not sure which one to buy, but am looking into it. Sue

Pleased to hear you are back home Sue and hopefully recovered. The wildlife camera will perhaps be as good a solution that will suit all Sue, at least you won't need to stare out of the window for hours on end to see if there is any activity - and then miss it in the blink of an eye!

Thanks guys, wildlife camera on my Xmas list - family think I am quite quite mad. Not seen cat again, so hoping it was a one off . Female not taking many comfort breaks but male keeping her fed so that’s good. Lovely seeing the interaction between the male and females in all your photos and clips, so I can imagine what’s going on in mine . Thank you for all good wishes - a small kidney problem, nothing serious. Annoying stent in at the moment which is uncomfortable - sooner that’s out the better It’s a pain in the ***** . All good though, no big worries. Sue

I was hoping for news from one or both of you upon checking in, but you're both still playing the waiting game. Try not to your nails too much!
