Latest......Well I am pleased to report May came to roost tonight. I turned the camera on and my heart dropped as she wasn't in the nest...but fortunately I had left the camera on and the footage showed her going to roost and then deciding she fancied sleeping in the 'loft' above the camera And let's be fair she has probably had enough of cameras. Tomorrow looks like an early start for me . Happy Easter everyone

Let's hope so Sammi but it will only happen when the time is right which appears to be the way this year. Seems like a long wait though doesn't it?

Oh yes Kathy...it's still early for mine if I go by last year's dates. More soft furnishings going in today and her favourite feather still gets carried in and out Its so funny to watch. Think I may also order some mealworms for the robins and blackbirds and all the others who bless my garden.

for you Sammi - she's still active & as you say a delight to watch. Timewise compared to last year, things should be OK for you this year too.

No sign yet Sue. I've been busy all day so I haven't watched much either inside or outside the box. She is certainly taking her time Hopefuuly will get some time tomorrow.

Well I have just watched May come in to roost and she has settled on the nest cup rather than go up to the loft to sleep and she has been doing the turning the egg motion when she ducks down so there may well an egg down there.....an early start tomorrow just when I thought I could get a 'lion' lie in! I haven't seen Borris come to roost yet if in fact it is Borris who has been my roosting male. ?

Well, did you spy anything Sammi, or did you have a ‘lion’ Sue

Nothing on view yet Kathy..... . Sue I missed the early morning nest view but didn't get a ''lion' either Emergency Grandparent duties took precedence over both. May is still popping in and out with her favourite feather so it can't be far off laying time.....unless she's hidden one already .....

Good luck Sammi, Lucy lays her eggs between 6.15 and 6.20 every morning. I know they’re all different....I don’t get up to watch though, that’s way too early for me...I record everything.. icon_biggrin

Well Helen I was up at 5 this morning to turn on the cameras and computer. To be honest the winds were so strong I couldn't sleep anyway. Both May and Boris still fast asleep at that time. I must admit May looked the cosier one tucked up in the nest cup. But still nothing to report in the egg front. They were both up and out by 6 a.m. with Boris a minute or two ahead of May so I imagine he went around to wake her up. I think I might go back to bed.

Hi Sammi I have just caught up with your thread and it’s been an interesting read with some great pictures. I hope May lays her eggs soon for you.

Thank you Kevin. It has been a long wait I must admit It is about the same time as last year so I'm not too worried

They do like to keep you waiting don't they. Perhaps May is waiting for May before she lays

I didn't manage an early start today so no chance of catching May laying. Maybe I should trust my computer and leave it on over night. So no sign of eggs but could well be one or two hidden as May does occasionally do 'egg dives'. She is still adding bits of wool to the nest and still likes to carry her favourite feather in and out. She puts it down while she adjusts the egg cup a little and then picks it up before she leaves

Taz and Paul I've just checked what bits of records I have for past years and for the last two years the first egg was laid on 28 th April so I am assuming there may well be one under there...but only time will tell... I wonder if it is the same pair too. Wish they had a few more distinguishing marks.
