Note that it will not be possible to upload images directly to the forum, as the free data allowance is very small and would run out quickly. To post pictures we will need to use a service such as postimages.org/ which is free and very good. Just upload your image(s) there, click the "Share" button and grab the "Direct Link" which can then be used in a forum post.I am sure matt will explain this in more detail but I am just making this a sticky thread in the forum so everyone is aware

Here's a quick guide to posting photo's to the forum using PostImages.org to host the images. 1. Go to PostImages.org. You can create an account here if you want, which means that you can access your images later, and organise images into albums etc, but you don't need to create an account if you don't want to. 2. You'll see the image posting option below. I would recommend resizing your image to 640x480, which you can select from the drop down list, as this stops images from taking over the whole page (and more!) when viewing forum posts. Once you have selected your resize option, you can either drag images into the web page or select them from a file browser after clicking the Choose images button. 3. Once the image(s) have uploaded you will be redirected to a page with the uploads. Click the Share button, which will display a list of links for the image. The link you want is the "Direct" link, so click the button to the right of that link to copy this text directly to your clipboard, so that it can be pasted afterwards: 4. Now you can create your forum post. Note that if you are replying to an existing thread, then you will get a more fully featured editor if you click the Reply button instead of using the "Quick reply" box underneath the post.Write your post and, when you want to insert an image, click the Image button in the toolbar above the post editor. This will open a small window where you can paste the link text that you coped in step 3: Note that you do not really need to provide any alternative text, but you can if you want (browsers that cannot display the image will show it, but otherwise you won't see it). Good luck, and if you have any questions please post them to this thread!

Thanks for the detailed instructions Matt, now I'll see if I can manage to post a photo my brother took in 2006, which I downloaded from the old forum. What's the betting I can't do it though! (I felt guilty after posting a message to Karen & Sue when they said they couldn't manage it, so I thought I'd see if I could.) Anyway, when my attempt is a flop, I'll ask my daughter to try and sort it out when she visits on the 10 February.

Is the photo showing to anybody else, or is it just me who can see it?

Well i’ve tried and tried. I must be so thick. Couldn’t see a ‘share’ button. Do I hold finger on image to do this? Anyway managed to get the link posted eventually but only the url (I think that’s what it called ) to paste and had to hit on that on forum to bring up the picture - a bit like a YouTube link. What am I doing wrong? This was on my iPad. When I tried on my laptop I just got a little black box with a square in it? When you have all stopped laughing at me I will try again with any advice as to where I am going wrong. Great instructions Matt, just a very stupid senior citizen. Sue

Hi Sue Hope you've managed to sort it by now. I use my iPad too and find the adding picture box is sort of 'off screen' to the bottom right of the screen I had to hunt around for it.Did you find that so you could paste in the copied Url? Don't give up

Hi Sue again I've been back on the post images site to check. The share icon appears top leftish above the picture you have chosen to use. This is probably no help but we can't do without your photos and I delete the http:/ or whatever is already in the box before I paste in my url...but not sure if this is necessary ......I'm sure someone will know and tell us ........keep trying

Hi Sammi, thanks for that, I will keep trying. Seem to be able to get right the way through but when I ‘paste’ to the forum I just get an empty square - when I click on the empty square it gives me the url again which I could then post but not much good to anyone. I am determined to master this. Going to have another attempt later. Thank you. sue

Sue Partying for you STUNNING PICTURE BY THE WAY To stay logged in click on the "remember me" under the username (after typing it) aslong as you don't delete your browser history it should keep you logged in. If you delete your browser history though you'll have to log in again. So log out then type your username under it you'll see remember me make sure is that selected then put your password and log back in and you should be set.

Are you removing the http:// out the box before pasting your link? You'll see already an http:// in the IMAGE URL you need to remove this then paste the direct link you've copied from postimages.
