I've been checking in now and again although I can see the playback action spkes I can't view them. ( maybe a phone thing) It is strangely quiet there. Here too it's still cold and temperatures don't look that good for Easter. I have been fooled by the early easter. Last year I was expecting the first egg on Easter sunday but that was 17th I think.

Can you see the playback buttons ie stop, forward, back etc below the spikes Sammi? You probably are aware but you have to hit the play button and make sure the timer at the bottom left on the screen is actually moving time (the time is wrong). It doesn’t automatically play back and it will jump to next action if there are more than one spike. The sunlight is giving a lot of false spikes as well so a bit confusing. Don’t know if this is all different on a phone but this is how it is on my tablet in case it helps. Sue

Don’t think I’d be able to see it at all on my phone screen, hence I use my I-Pad Sue

Oh I’ve just noticed more material in the box 2 think I will have to claim this box Well, you are going to have fun with this box then Ann. First the great tit visited today, then the blue tit, then the great tit again and finally back to the blue tit . Which one will settle for it? Take your pick Ann Sue

I know we are all really surprised by the fact that Elizabeth and Malcolm’s boxes remain empty BUT they are still getting pairs visit both boxes. There are still nest wriggles going on , and, looking at the overview on past years , some of the nests didn’t have any eggs laid until 24th and 25th April!! We all know how quickly these birds can build a nest if they want to - so there is still some hope lovely people Well I truly hope so anyway. Hoping for a surge of building over the coming week. Sue

Not been able to see any visits today either Sammi. Lots of shadows but haven’t found anything else. The amount of empty nest boxes on the forum this year is now getting very sad indeed Sue

It certainly is a strange one. Weather wise Sue you will know first hand how chilly it is down here Malcolm and Elizabeth's boxes are a surprise though. It seems there are a few birds about but not in full breeding mode.

Trouble is, the trees seem to be leafing up etc and you wonder if the birds will miss the caterpillar time that is so important to them. Maybe they can see and understand more than us and maybe they know things just aren’t ready yet - wish we knew. Let’s hope that’s all it is. Yes, we were at Mawes today. Misty and cold. Seems the south coast is missing out on the nice weather the rest of the uk is experiencing - typical . However, that makes Elizabeth and Malcolm’s boxes even more of a mystery as they should be getting a bit warmer weather. Sue
