Amazing news Sue! I would never have imagined them nesting so high up! Me neither Benn. Good job plenty of trees around for when/if we get chicks to fly to. Sue

Someones got a camera inside the 3 hole box that was a success in your old house I am not going to lie, I am tempted to try this now next year replace my "tree" box .. watch this space Oh wow Paul, thank you for that. ❤️ Amazing. The birds loved that box hence why I had one similarly made in wood. I still have the concrete one but nowhere to mount it here - it is so heavy it needs bolting right through a wall. Unsure what the screws are on the base in the video unless because of the weight someone has mounted it on a platform of some sort. Also be interested to see how/where they’ve managed to secure the camera as there was not much headroom above the entrance holes. Some company should take note and get something into production. Thank you again Paul. Sue

Thanks Pete and Paul (sounds like two little dickie birds sitting on a wall . Don’t worry you are probably too young to remember that nursery rhyme ). Been a busy day in the box but she still keeps leaving a bare patch in the middle 🤷♀️. Just hoping things keep going Sue

Actually I probably look as old as I am nowadays... all this worrying about nest boxes takes its toll I know that old rhyme very well.

Looking good Sue, I’m thrilled for you, Ooh Ann, I am so afraid it’s all going to come to nothing. Always had nests that I couldn’t see and had to second guess everything. Now when I least expected it - it might Might ssshhhh Sue

Well, I am really beginning to wonder if my female knows what she is doing. The material is still coming in, but she just drops it and flies off. I think her aim is to fill the box completely There is a nest cup of sorts but no soft material and no trying to sort anything out. It is so deep she can bury herself beneath it. I hope she soon realises there’s more to this nesting lark than just playing at filling a box up . Sue

They take forever to stop faffing but eventually it comes together. Mine's basically had what looks like a reasonable nest for a week but still messing about with feathers and fluff!

That kind of reminds me of my side view box from a couple of years ago it was that deep you couldn't see her sleeping in the cup Maybe she just wants an extra comfy nest Sue

She could give my female a lesson in filling it up as she takes out whatever goes in

Nah, think I’ll keep her now. She has finally decided she needs some soft stuff in there - it’s going everywhere EXCEPT the nest cup . Oh well . Sue
