So upsetting Think they had the robins chicks here as well as I only see the pr around 😢 Yes Ann bloody annoying. The pigeon was spooked off the next by one of us leaving via our basement french doors as these were just under the nest which had happened a few times before. Then the eggs were unprotected for a couple of hours which for these birds is unusual. The Magpies obviously knew where the nest was and used the opportunity to raid the nest. The pigeons are now looking for another site in the same Cotoneaster bush. Seems pointless but they did successfully raise a brood there in 2021.

Bloody magpies! Honestly I think they are the worse for nesting birds They had my dove nest off surprisingly though my blackbird nest made it which was a surprise!

Ahh, sorry to hear that Ben I was looking forward to seeing the babies I had magpies predate a blackbird nest in our bay tree one year and then a dunnock nest in the conifer the year after, it seems the blackbirds have done ok this year though as saw two fully grown chicks earlier in the year and it looks like they are nest building in my neighbours shrub now so may get some more out. I'm sure the woodies will get some chicks at some point, they never seem to really stop nesting it's just a shame we can't watch it!
