I'd resisted starting a 2022 thread given the box has been shunned for the last three years. So I'm happy to report a pair of BTs found the box two days ago and today the nest building as begun!
Here's the shape of things at the end of the first build day:

It's the same box and same configuration this year, two Raspberry Pi Zero W's with one NoIR Pi Camera in the roof, and one wide angle third-party camera on the side. There's no audio yet as I honestly didn't expect any activity and I wasn't quite ready :-)

She's roosting in the box tonight. This is all happening very quickly - it's only been four days! It's not been all good news sadly. A cat was seen trying to get at the box tonight, not long after she'd settled down. I'm hoping it doesn't come back, or they may abandon the box.

It's not looking great. The morning was fairly normal, with some new nest material being brought in. Then visits got less frequent until about midday and then nothing. At least one of them is visiting the entrance every so often but they're not going in.
I'm not declaring it over just yet, there's still time

Thats quite normal. In my experience most nest building occurs in the morning. Then nothing. With the weather set to get much colder they might start taking material in and out or stop for awhile.

Agree with Benn, this seems completely normal. My current bird is completely crazy and has now spent two and a half weeks taking material in and out of the box, mostly in the mornings too. I'm not saying that is normal tho!

Well you all seem to be spot on, they're both back this morning. She's brought in new material and he's bringing in food for her. What a roller coaster the first week has been

Looking promising, they certainly work quickly when they want to. Sue

Looking good Phil. My sparrows all but disappeared after a few bit of straw were taken in but they made a reappearance today. The bluetits don't seem to be in any rush either. Good luck with yours

Yes they seem to be back at it. I really thought the cat had spooked them, and to be honest I wouldn't have blamed them The weather here has also turned very cold, we've even had a few flakes of snow.

They had two or three days of nearly constant nest building, she roosted again just the one night and now we're back to super quiet. Hopefully this is just the quiet bit before the eggs! On the plus side I was able to adjust the top camera a bit so it can now see the nest cup, and mostly fixed the sound.

Great quality video - and the sound is really clear.

It's all gone very quiet. The pair are still around, there's just no interest in nesting any more. A pair of GTs have been taking some interest in the box in the last few days but it's unlikely they'll use it this late in the season.
Maybe next year!

Oh no, don't be disheartened! the only great tit nest I had in my garden around 4 years ago now wasn't started until May so you still have time and it's great you have a pair showing interest, I very rarely see great tits in my garden, let alone try to lure them to one of my boxes!
