You are so lucky Ann having wrens! I've only ever spotted one occasionally in our garden - just having a quick drink, shower & shave in the header to our pond.

I'd try and get a camera into the log box for next year Ann, You can have camera's in both boxes then so you won't be to disappointed if one is picked over the other.

I will have more time next year,on Saturday i've just celebrated my 65th birthday. I'm not retiring in July but i will be going back to school for two days in September, which give me a good balance between home and school. I have many bird boxes set up around the school, and had many successes, outside the classroom window we have a bird feeder and window feeder we enjoy the visits from robin, blue tits and great tits, its lovely for the children. i love to read all the posts when i get home each day. im not sure how Martha and Martin are doing, im out most days but i do know they do visit the box.

i think Martha and Martin are a young pr, they seem to be just going in and out the box like a game, i don't think they are near laying eggs, so who knows they may swap box, watch this space

I would love to think that for you Ann . Mine seem settled on my non camera box so think I have to accept I will just be watching from outside - again! In fact I don’t think I‘ve had one visit to my camera box at all this month. Sue

Hi Sue and Paul im not here that much to watch, a few weeks ago i saw one go in, i think the same as you sue they are happy with the log box, we are both in the same situation, to accept just outdoor viewing and enjoy others pictures and video clips. maybe next season will be our time Sue its certainly very different start to this nesting period, so many are at different stages

Hi everyone I've just got in and finished for school holidays for two weeks, I'm so ready for them now. ive not been here to know what is happening with my blue tits, so in the morning i will be able to sit with a cup of tea and watch out of the bedroom window, sure its too cold here for any egg laying, but who knows ann

Hi Ann, I too am ready for the hols but don’t break off while tomorrow so unfortunately for me I have to wait until Saturday to be able to watch! Last year my bluetits didn’t start laying until the 9th April, I do think with the weather being so cold with ice on cars etc., in a morning, that maybe things are going to be a little bit later this year, as my nest isn’t anywhere near finished, that is unless she has a mad last minute burst Will have to see good luck luck with Martha & Martin Elle xx

thanks ellie good look with your forthcoming nest, enjoy the school holiday, im sure you are ready for it.
Well its Friday morning and as i said im sat with my first tea of the day, looking out on the cold windy morning. both martha and martin have been in and around the nest, just looks to cold to be looking after eggs, even though i know we have nests with eggs already. somehow i have a feeling there aren't eggs yet, martin is back and forth on the front of the box and both in the trees near by. at least im off now so i can observe what is happening over the next two weeks. i have a feeling they are first timers.

Enjoy your time off watching Ann. Cold spell will have an effect on many nest no doubt. Fear for eggs already laid. Let’s hope any that are out there are well protected. Relax and enjoy your time off Sue

I've just noticed Martha collecting the sheeps wool and taking it back to box, finally i know what stage she is at, even though ive seen plenty of visits in and around the box, hopefully it will be time to lay very soon

Great news Ann. Can we safely say things are finally getting going? No wool in mine yet ...seems to be bits of long grass today and yet more moss.

yes hopefully it will be, and maybe the weather to start improving.
the pr of great tits have been in the garden, ive seen no evidence of the taking nesting material to wherever, so no idea if their nest is built in the trees nearby,
after seeing the pr of wrens in the box a few weeks ago no further sitings, so no nest built in it like last year, it wasn't the chosen box, but lovely to watch Mr Wrenn busy building
it seems like mr and mrs robin are both back and probably feeding the young, she disaappeared for a few weeks.he was about on his own that's about my lot, apart from blackbirds

ive no idea what's going on, ive only one pr of bluetits here, then i spot a male interested in my other log box near the house, he stayed inside for sometime and looked out as if he was expecting to coax his partner in. i hadn't had any interest that im aware for several months, that must of been Martin, i don't understand especially as the nest is nearly ready at the other end of the garden. ill continue to look out or was it a one off visit?

Ann maybe if Martha has started laying it could be that Martin is checking the box out to roost so he can be nearby and at Marthas beck & call Elle xx
