im sat watching the birds this morning, i wished there were as many bluetits, great tits, goldfinches as there are sparrows, the numbers have really multiplied here.which is good as a few years ago they declined.

Same, Ann. Musn't grumble of course - sparrows are great - but in my garden they outnumber everything else by at least 10-1. Hopefully it means I might get lucky with a sparrow nest next year, although they've never shown the slightest interest in any of my current boxes (even with 32mm holes).

Yes matt its about 10- 1 here. i did try one of these terrace boxes for the sparrows a few years ago but had no takers. good luck with your boxes, you have a wonderful garden to attract the birds.

Now that would be a surprise Paul to get a rooster, I've been putting my camera outside to see if there has been one in either box, no sign of it happening yet anyway

i also have hedgehogs that visits, i do put my camera out

I was watching the male great tit showing lots of interest today with the log box, that is in the position where my wrens were. i have put the outside camera facing that box tonight, as so far my sideview box has not sign of a rooster.

I'm sat here, on a very wet pouring down , dark day watching all the activity with the blue tits and great tits, I've counted at least 14 flying between trees. that is a record here, one blue tit has visited the log box and two landed on my camera box.ive got my cameras on outside as well its certainly brighten up a dull day.
