We've been away for a couple of days Ann, so just checking in now. Nice to know that things are still OK with Jenny Wren & I look forward to hearing great news from you next weekend then!
My memory on this next bit is not so good, but I think it was either you or Sammi who mentioned a song from the musical "Annie" a while ago, called something like "The sun will come out tomorrow" - which I'd never heard of. Imagine my surprise when I was watching a TV programme called "Ackerley Bridge" last week & a girl called Missy suddenly started singing it!

Hi Diane yes it was my post that mentioned the song. One of those I know a couple of lines from but then that's it. I saw Ackerly Bridge too and thought what a coincidence. Looking at our weather today I'm hoping the lyrics will come true. Ann I hope the little wren nest is still doing well.

Great news Ann & nice to know that Mr. Wren is still doing his bit too. My grandaughter has been at Lincoln Uni for the last three years, she will graduate with a 2.1 degree this coming September, but we can't go to see it, as only parents are allowed.
Sammi - it was you then! How funny you watch Ackerly Bridge too.

That should be better Ann. (I don't want to be too picky, but that box could do with a bit of TLC before next year - won't mention a new one with a camera!)

yes i quite agree beechnut, with all the bad weather this year the roof has warped, it will be thrown away A.S.A.P, but my i add that Jenny Wren is happy with it. i have an expensive nest box with camera from garden nature which hasn't been used this year,

Full marks to your hubby Ann for doing that for you - he deserves a if he likes one! He has made it so much better for you to see what's happening now, hopefully hatchings at the weekend & afterwards too as you say. Perhaps Jenny wren really likes your old box whatever state it's in - maybe she won't nest again in a spanking brand new one? BTW, I have to mention that if I don't post at the weekend to your thread, it's for one reason only. It's supposed to be 28 degrees celsius on Saturday here & I just can't cope with heat like that anymore , so I won't be on the computer at all. Overnight temps too hot as well & I really struggle with sleeping then - just wish I could live in a chest freezer (with open lid of course!) on days like that. The only bonus for me is that it's not a repeat of last Summer (so far).

Sounds like you're right Ann about one or some hatching, so that's great news early this morning for you. Now for having to learn to be patient until late this evening ..... best of luck with that, as I don't manage it except with the plants in our garden!

Wonderful news to read this morning Ann! I hope you enjoy your day off & see lots more when you can watch the box for the rest of today, apart from making your lunch of course. However, maybe you have already prepared a packed lunch so you can picnic outside too? I had to do some gardening yesterday whilst it was cloudy, the same today before the dreaded heat tomorrow, so I didn't get back on the computer - will try and pop in late this afternoon if I can.

Ann, only just caught up with your thread - phew - what a lot has happened whilst I have been away. Loving the photos of your fledglings and so so happy about Jenny (energy if she did make you spill your tea ). Can’t wait to follow this through. So pleased for you. Sue

Oh, so it is only Jenny feeding them after all - I suppose that's a disappointment for you after one of your previous posts on the 27th. June saying both parents were feeding them? Not to worry though, as she's doing a great job being a single mum.
