ive no idea, the temperatures was fine while the box was being used, i do have squirrels charging about the garden and near the box, so whether that was a factor or not, the squirrels are not my companion at all.
Im going to put card back in the outdoor camera to see if there is any activity in the morning ,from just looking out of the window ive not seen anything for a good while until today

well im really puzzled now Sammi, i was going to take the box down and on inspecting it there are 5 eggs and not 4 that i saw on sunday, so did she stop laying because of the low temperature as you suggested. seems a big gap between laying im putting the outdoor camera box on now so i can see if there is any activity tomorrow, its rather a long gap between eggs, im very puzzled now

yes, i will keep looking out the window and checking my camera, i could have been completely wrong about the number of eggs which is more than likely than any further activity. not raising any hopes at all.

Oh Ann, isn't having to guess awful? Not knowing anything for sure is a nightmare, so just a waiting game for another few days.

im leaving well alone for a good week or more as i have no idea what's happening, i still feel its abandoned HORRAY 12 m d i have just checked the footage from the morning and Jenny went into the box with nesting material at 9 20 am, i wonder if that means there are 6 eggs today, here's hoping all is well with the other eggs. i will continue to observe and check the filming at the end of the day. its all very interesting and confusing that its been a long drawn out nesting time with Jenny, maybe she is first timer

😊😀so pleased. Awful wondering what's going on isn't it. They are so quick and cunning in concealing their nests! Since my bt's have fledged I've noticed a blackbird nest a few feet to the right of the nest box and now this morning a Robin is making repeated visits to somewhere behind the shrub to the left of the box. They certainly love that aspect of the garden! They are both taking full advantage of the mealworm supply!

Lovely news. We usually have one (?)wren in the garden but very haven't seen him/her for ages. How do you tell the male from the female? It does sound very promising

Im still chuckling now, as i type this. i went up the garden at 8pm to get the card out of the camera so i could see if there was activity during the day i stopped to look at the box, facing just below the hole when Jenny wren flew out at such a speed and nearly took my head off i had to duck. i had such a surprise. i was holding a cup of tea as i jumped the tea spilt over my wrist, it was lukewarm so no harm done. i went to look at the videos and it was recorded its so funny to watch. i will be counting the days now and awaiting hatching day.

Ann - I've done exactly the same thing with a glass of wine in my hand though - I jumped sky high when a frog suddenly jumped out of the pond and landed on my foot - lost the whole lot! Anyway, apart from that, things are continuing to look good for Jenny Wren.

yes they certainly are,im excited, but at the same time didn't expect to have an active wren nest, she just pops out for a break, i did see her with the beak sticking out slightly maybe she was hoping mr wren would show up to bring her a treat, maybe he will sometime
Looks like Mr wren has come to check on things today, hope they are good parents

Ann for the updates and the lovely pic. Her beak is so long. I rarely get the chance to see our visiting wren up close. I do hope things go well for them. At least the weather is warming up soon.
