Friday ive been in the garden early to cut the grass before the rain, which has set in now, ive seen nothing from the wren box, the other day when i saw jenny on the front of the box she seemed surprised when the other wren flew out the box, ( or the other way round ) im now wondering if it was another female intruding as it has gone very quiet now, think its been abandoned which is a terrible shame, im so tempted to peep in the box to see how its been left, may just give it longer before doing so on a good note, i think i saw Martha in the garden with one of her fledging, think they are staying safely tucked away in the trees, maybe soon the will be introduced to the feeders every year i have a pair of bullfinches visit the feeders and im sure they come to nest close by, ive just been watching them both on the feeder, so stunning colours on the male

Yes Ann, perhaps it would be wise to wait another day or two before peeping into the nest, better safe than sorry. Good news about Martha & her chick though, hope they keep on showing up for you.

A bummer for you and me Ann, I was looking forward to seeing the wrens through to fledging, a lovely, dainty little bird.

No Ann I was looking forward to following the progress of your wren's nest.
I've not had a nesting wren for at least 20 years!

Hi Ann, I'm sorry to read your latest messages about the 4 eggs just lying there. Like you & Beechnut, I was hoping that they would hatch into chicks.

Hi Ann, so sad. Do you think the sudden cold spell could have had anything to do with it. I know temperature has an influence on nesting behaviour.
