Hi Ann, mine have always been bang on 19 days (when successful) from hatching, and if you look on the Bigg site overview you will see most are 19 or 20 days so I would say more like middle of next week (that was when I was working on for mine and they seem to have hatched around the same time if my memory serves me correctly). Martha seems to have done an amazing job and I hope you get to see the fledging or at least them around your garden after all your patience. Sue

They normally spend 19 to 21 days in the nest Ann, Well mine do every year anyway, Sometimes even a little longer. I have had them still in the box after 23 / 24 days once or twice. If they hatched the 11th, Fledging for you should happen between 30th May / 1st June.

yes, all has been ok really, just the blip with Martha left on her own, at the beginning its was hard to know what stage they were at. I estimated it was the 11th for sitting on eggs, i hope im wrong (and be a few days earlier ) then i may get chance to see them leave be i go away on wed, but think its more end of week, i shall be looking for little heads popping up at the hole. Hope to see them around the garden, which will be lovely.
jenny wren had disappeared from her box for a good while now at one time i thought she was sitting on eggs, but each time I've looked up over the last week there's been no sign.

Would be so lovely for you to at least see a little face at the hole Ann. You deserve that after all your patience and watching. Keep those fingers crossed and keep looking. Can you set your camera up pointed at the hole to try to capture anything (I think you mentioned you had a wildlife camera). If not, go away happy in the thought that Martha has been a star and done you proud. Sue

yes Sue the camera is facing the hole of the box they will be slow leaving, with them poking heads out then taking the brave exit, so i will set the timer on ! to 2 mins length time or maybe a little longer she is busy all day up until about 8pm. she must be exhausted.

Hi Ann Hope you get to see them fledge. They certainly work hard as you say. May is busy till 9.00 ish. Mine are way off fledging yet. May has met a male at the feeder. Whether this is Boris or not I don't know but there was a lot I fluttering of wings. Maybe it's just to say that she isn't a threat or maybe flirting with Boris. Who knows.

sue and Diane for your comments, she certainly does deserve to have her babies stay safe after all the effort that she has done to look after them. it was only taken on my phone, she knew i was there.

Amazing, ive just looked up and saw Jenny wren go in the box and come out looking for food, ive not seen anything of her for more than ten days, now i certainly will be wondering what's going on there, i will have big saucer eyes keep looking.
this morning i stood by the log box and could hear the chicks tweeting.
