Same boat here, don’t know what is happening . So frustrating. Only time will tell I guess. They certainly are keeping us on our toes this year. Sue

I have absolutely no clue whatsoever Ann As I’ve said before, I thought I’d seen eggs and also silhouettes of eggs underneath feathers, but I think I’m going crazy now, think I’m seeing things It is absolutely freezing here though, so I think she’s layering up with the feathers Elle xx

Well, ive had to investigate, the frustration was getting at me, ive been in the garden a few hours and from early morning the only thing i have seen is the male bluetit land on my other log box, nothing from nest box. so i just about managed to reach the lid and open it, couldnt reach to see inside so i lay my phone across the top, its not a brill photo but i can see a neat nest with no eggs, i now believe this may have been abandoned

Oh Ann - sorry to see a photo of an empty nest & you will be so disappointed after your hopes seem to have been dashed. Wish I could give you a hug.

Ann, If you couldn't reach inside they may be egg in there you know, Yesterday I had to feel about in Tatty's cup and remove the wool off the top to see the eggs. I could feel something under the wool and it was two eggs, If you didn't feel into the cup I am guessing eggs will be in there it looks like that cup is covered to me and something is being hidden.

Good luck Ann, I have sat from 6.30 to 8.30pm with my eyes strained on the box and not seen anyone enter to roost. If they have it’s either before or after or when i’ve blinked Hope you have better luck with watching than me. I have given up and will wait and see if anything results. . I’m with Paul, in that something could be buried in yours. Keep the faith. Sue

Tatty normally comes in around 7:30pm to settle down, Sometimes she will go back out at 7:45pm for quick feed on the feeders and straight back in. I'd look out around 7pm, If egg laying as begun she will be roosting.

TBH Ann my female has not yet roosted in our log box. It is weird that everything is so late this year, but we have had little rain now for 7 weeks, ponds dried up and until today a freezing Easterly wind! Perhaps out little friends are holding back a touch?

hi Benn thanks for your post, that's a shame we have had a glorious day here, are gardens are also very dry, in fact i have watered the garden today. mine love the log box, they took to it after a very short time of being mounted last year, it has been a very different time altogether this spring. i wish you luck with your b t
i have just sat and watched from 6.50pm until 7.15pm, i was surprised to see one flew out of the box about 6.45, i didn't realise she was in there, not seen any sign of here returning unless she did once i turned my back i was hoping to see Martha, go in to roost ill look out for your updates

just home to see Martin take food in for Martha, i have a ground feeder, that sits on top of a garden storage box with a good quality fat ball crumbled up, normally its the robin that goes to get some, but it seems now that bluetits are going to get it, id say she is now sitting on her eggs

Sounds like that’s a very good possibility Ann. My male turned up with a treat in his beak this morning but obviously the missus wasn’t at home because he looked inside a couple of times then flew off still with it in his beak. Whether he found her or ate it himself I don’t know . You are describing exactly what i’ve watching for Ann - him taking food in the box and feeding her - makes it far more probable then that she’s incubating. I really hope so for you. You need to rig up that wildlife camera for yourself. Sue
