Good question Ann - what is the best guess these days, 20 days or so? If so then perhaps tomorrow. They don't look super ready yet tho - at least they haven't spent a lot of time looking out of the holes yet.

Hi Matt. I'm just trying to catch up with everyone's posts. Were our nests matching on dates? Ours are on day21 if you count hatching as day 1 or 20 if you count the day after hatching as day 1 (I never know )They are up to the hole today and looking like maybe tomorrow now unless some go early evening. A couple though are still small.

Five have just gone Sammi! I really wasn't expecting it today, and then I looked and only 4 left so I missed those - but can still see on the rewind on the stream. They didn't look that active for most of the day - just a few popping up every now and then to the hole - and then suddenly a mass exodus!!

Update: they all fledged over the space of about an hour this evening. I really wasn't expecting it today!! I did manage to catch the last 5 going, which was great, and have made a highlight vid of the last hour. Didn't get my 3 birds poking out of the hole pic this year but that can wait - very happy with the outcome!
Here's the last hour and a bit - they look quite relaxed to start, then suddenly it all kicks off!

So pleased they've all fledged safely. I think it must be getting too late for mine tonight although it's still light

Look who's back !!! Four weeks after suddenly arriving and making what looked like a complete nest in two days, I hadn't seen this robin since. Today she started bringing in more nesting material, working most of the morning and afternoon, and right now she is having a little nap! She couldn't, could she??!

It all happened so quickly that I wasn't ready, and there was probably only 20 minutes or so from the whole time they were in there when 3 of them might have been looking out at the same time.. nevermind, they've fledged and that is the important thing!

I think this is her second brood Matt, Maybe she completed the nest and had it ready for when her first brood was all done with. Mine went missing for a month last year after having the first brood you see! Fingers crossed by I think egg laying will begin for you

The robin is still working fairly hard each morning with new material, but no egg yet. Late last night, just before 9pm, a wren decided to visit the robin nest. It made itself quite at home and stayed for about 3 minutes, happily rearranging the nest bowl and snuggling in!

OK so things have got a bit weird in the Robin nest. It looks like the wren has brought a fledgling in! I really don't know what is going on, but the wren has been in and out again all afternoon and then suddenly appeared with another, smaller (and fluffier) wren who has now settled into the nest full time. It seems to me to be a fledgling, and is occasionally making begging gestures towards what I assume is the mother. Here's a pic - you can see "Mum" at the top, perched on the edge of the nest.. Now I wonder what the robin will think if it comes back??

Two wren fledglings now sleeping in the robin's nest! WTF? Mum is coming in to feed them too.
