Almost like a little wriggle/shuffle at the start with wings outstretched? Looking hopeful!

Our resident bluetit getting settled for the night before the onset of Storm Eunice. Note the poo/feather draught excluder

Only the best homes have poo/feather draft excluders. Hoping everyone's boxes survive the storm....mine got through Storm Dudley last night but the wind speeds during the day tomorrow look worse. Wondering where the birds go when it's like this during the day?

Great excitement here today. A couple investigate the rooster box. Excuse the mess . The male first and then the female. And look at her leg She has a white ring. I so hope she nests with us. Could she be a lovely scouser lady come to find her old box Paul???

Wow that is great sammi, are you near to Paul? I hope she chooses your box, at least she is easy to identify HI Karen Paul and I are miles apart and I doubt it's a bird from Liverpool although who knows. I've sent a pic to the bto as we have been in contact with them about a ringed blackcap we have seen in the garden. I will try to post a picture if I can remember how to I find videos so much easier. I spend all day checking the feeders for birds with rings recently Our sparrows have started bringing in nesting bits so I think Spring must be here.

We had a female Blackbird with a bto ring on visit us for many years who we called Nina, I managed to get the ring number by zooming in on my camera and got the details on her from the bto, sadly she hasnt been for the past year so I fear she may have passed away, she would of been 7 years old this year. I hope your BT sticks around and has a great season with you

Here's our blackcap. He has 4 rings two on each leg. You can just see the red and black rings on one leg. Apparently he was ringed in 2017 as an adult. The Bto are seeing how many stay here to breed these days so hopefully he will stick around. I am pleased as punch that I've remembered how to post a photo

Well I am not getting my hopes up but a great tit nest would be absolutely beautiful. They also check out the entrance to the box defended by the sparrows. Everything is crossed here

Well after a rather lengthy fight a few days ago when two females followed the male into the box things seem to have quietened down today. Mr has started to bring in a few bits of foundation so let's hope this year we have a successful nest. Thanks to all for wishing those lovely great tits into my box but there are also bluetits looking so who knows? I will settle for any nest at all this year

Looks good Sammi! Have you got a camera in the sparrow box too? Hi Matt Yes I've got 4 boxes up with cameras this year but realistically I only ever expect one.

Always good to see Sparrows Sammi. Hopefully you are on for two nests. Thanks Benn Yes that would be great. Sparrows are a first for me. They nest in nearby house eaves normally. Hopefully it means there are more sparrows looking this year.
