I've run out of live (still hoping for delivery today), and got some dried as an emergency stop gap. Having soaked them, and cut them up into little pieces, birds don't seem interested in them at all? Anyone had luck with dried? At the moment she is taking fro the fat block and feeding the chicks with this - doesn't seem interested (capable?) of gathering "real" food at all. I hope I haven't conditioned them too much to my feeders..

The blue tits won't touch the dried mealworms Matt, Even soaked they have no interest in them at all. I tried this one year 2 weeks after my chicks left the box, Mum and dad was still using the feeder once the dried ones was used them didn't even attempt taking them. You should get yourself to pets at home, They do 5 tubs for £10 I always do that when I am waiting for a delivery to come just allows you to have something there! I am still feeding our ones at the moment, I put mealworms out for 3 weeks after they leave these days the last week though I only top the feeder up once a day.

Thanks Paul - yep, learned that today! Luckily the live ones came on time, although rather larger than the minis I had before. Still, she is managing to get them down the chicks' throats!

Same with GT's, I tried the a couple of years ago, but they won't touch them at all. Even the magpies didn't like them.
