Thanks all, another 8/9 days to go........ it really is the boring stage 😴😴😴 Strangely Paul doesn’t come into the nest with the takeaways and snacks anymore, sometimes he’ll come to the outside of the nest, but he joins her at the feeder and waits till she goes back into the nest I’ve managed to order some mealworms, shops (except essential) still all closed over here, should have a supply from Monday

Good luck with the mealworms Helen. I'm still waiting for my girl to discover them - the only birds that have really clocked them so far are the sparrows, and they can't get in.

Thank’s Matt, that’s why I’m getting them a few days before the chicks hatch, hoping they find them in time. There can’t be many insects around with this very cold weather, temperatures most nights are below freezing, daytime temperatures havn’t been in double figures for over a week, lots of blustery hail showers. Don’t know if it’s been as bad where you are?

Its been bad Helen, but maybe not quite that bad. Still very cold at night, though - I've got all sorts that need to be planted out in the garden that I am still bringing in every night!

I havn’t sowed anything in the garden yet Matt, beds all ready from earlier, but I have a lot of plants in the greenhouse ready to go .....Next week lots of rain But night time temperatures much better so I’ll get planting. Hopefully when the chicks hatch next weekend the weather will be a lot better for them

Discovered a wood pigeon nest, right beside where I had just planted peas I nearly fell into the next door garden when I heard this flapping noise in a pine tree beside me and checked to see Mammy pigeon sitting on a nest. It’s a small enough open type Pine tree, not their usual choice. Will have to find a way quickly to protect the emerging pea shoots

Thanks Sue I don’t know what Paul’s first offering was, he better realise they’d prefer mealworms He ended up going back out with it)

Helen, lovely pics of Sue & Paul's family & the laugh about Paul! It's funny, but my cousin is called Paul & he's just as useless as your Paul about food!

Thanks Matt and Diane, yea Paul not really living up to his name .........sorry Human Paul, I imagine you are a much better provider then Birdie Paul and Diane’s cousin 4 have hatched now, but Sue is just happy to sit on them all the time, i don’t think she’s brought in any food yet and Paul is bringing in strange offerings, not very often so far. I don’t know why they are ignoring the mealworms all of a sudden. I shall remain optimistic for now and trust they know what they’re doing

Sorry I haven’t been posting lately, work is crazy at the moment.......I do pop in and out every so often, but not getting time at the moment to comment on individual posts, which i like doing normally. So Taz best of luck tomorrow with the fledging hopefully . Matt great success with all 7 hatching and hope they continue to thrive. Karen good luck with the hatching . You’re 8 have probably all fledged by now Paul, another success story for you and Liverpool (they’re must be millions of Bluetits in Liverpool at this stage ) Ann, I don’t know what sort of silly birds you have in your garden, all those lovely feeders with amazing food and they’re just ignoring them My 9 babies are 10 days old now and thriving as you can see in photo below, Sue and Paul have been amazing parents. Thank God for the mealworms as the weather has been so cold and wet here, I’m sure most of them would never have survived otherwise.
