Hope everyone is well, lovely to be back again. Hadn’t had much interest in my Nestboxes, very odd visit by Coaltits and Bluetits, more recently Wasps and big Bumblebees. I stopped watching until this morning when I happened to see a BlueTit going into the Box. immediately turned on camera to see this....... I checked back and they had visited a few times 2 days ago and yesterday a lot of wiggles in the morning and started bringing in moss at 12, today she is building furiously with himself in and out of the box constantly. So like last year albeit a week earlier. Maybe its the same female start of building yesterday......

Hi Helen, great to see you back, and that you have building going on. Thinking maybe you posted pictures ??? Don’t know about others, but if you did, I can’t see it. If you didn’t, sorry for being stupid Sue Great to be back Sue and thanks also for your well wishes Sammi and Pete. Just read up on your posts Sue, you had really bad luck with the House selling and Flat buying. Great you finally got your own place again. HOPEFULLY some nice kind birdies will realise what you’ve been through and nest in your nestbox Yes I do have two phots of the birds in the box, very strange you can’t see them, as I can see them. Would be interested to know if others have same problem.

Welcome back Helen, and what a fabulous sight! You have much more self discipline than I do, I don't think I could ever not check my boxes daily during nesting season!

Thanks Matt. It’s not discipline 😆 I was just despondent, very few visits to both my nestboxes this year I was trying to forget about them 😞. In fact we don’t seem to have had as many birds this year in the garden for some reason.

Hi Helen, I must say I had the same thing happen to me last year, it was like all the birds had heard about Covid and decided to stay in doors in their own lockdown.
You may still have time

Nest coming along nicely, she’s a very confident methodical nest builder, comes in with her material and does the ‘nest spin’ very successfully managing to spread everything in a circle. The only thing is there’s a lot more straw than moss. She roosted for the first time last night All she needs now is some soft cushions for nestcup

She’s the nicest BlueTit I’ve had in all the years of having a camera Nestbox, lovely temperament. Was having real difficulty coming up with names this year as I think I’ve used them all up now, but after your post sue I had a Brainwave......SUE and I’m going to call him after another lovely kind caring person PAUL as male BlueTit is very loyal.
So Sue and Paul it is (hope neither of you mind)
Actually where is Paul???

pleased you have a really nice blue tit, so she is definetely your favourite ! I also like the names you have chosen for them both & I'm sure Sue & Paul will both be happy with them too. I think Paul said he was taking a bit of time out from here?

Thanks Paul, It’s strange I didn’t get your email, very kind of you, which is why I called my male Bluetit after you .... he is so caring and attentive to her, they fly everywhere together and he’s up calling her 5.45 in the morning and waits while she takes her time getting up, she’s not always happy to see him, this morning she looked as though she was shouting some expletives at him and turned and tucked her head under her wing again, still he waited..... Hopefully an egg tomorrow or next day. The race is on with Taz........

She built the nest so quick and then decided to bring in a ridiculous amount of feathers (The feathering is taking longer than the build) , Maybe I shouldn’t have called her after you Sue, I think she’s too ‘Blingy” , Kim would be a better name as in from the “kardashan’ family

Helen Iv said it numerous times, I will always remember the most beautiful nest Iv ever seen was one of yours many, many years ago, a sea of white fluffy bouncy looking feathers. Maybe this female is some distant relative Elle xx

STILL NO NEWS I’m beginning to wonder if she’s ever going to lay an egg , they seem like a devoted couple, but maybe he keeps making empty promises !!! She’s in and out all the time, bringing more feathers, yes Elle I do remember that beautiful nest a few years back, it was like something from a Barbara Cartland romantic novel, i was expecting all the chicks to be pink when they hatched. This nest has swirls of feathers in every colour and some strange green stuff........more like a ‘Van Gough” painting.
