Oh dear Elle, what a shame & shock for you! As the others have said, let's hope she changes her mind & goes back to building again in that box. Perhaps it's the weather as it's been very cold with frost overnight here, & worse to come this week with low temps during the day.

Well folks my birds are definitely giving me the rollercoaster ride, on Saturday she’d completely left an empty nest, then yesterday (Sunday) a full nest, then today (Monday) empty nest.................. up until an hour ago, she’s bringing bits back in My hubby and I did laugh cos last time they were in together which was about 15 mins ago, they spent some time screaming at one another, we said he’s probably saying to her, “make your mind up, are we moving in or not?, if you don’t like it let’s move on cos I’m fed up already!” This was this morning This was an hour later This was the other day sorry the images are back to front, never seem to be able to get them in right order anyway, you get the idea Elle xx

Oh Elle you cracked me up so much I nearly had to change me underwear!!!! Glad you have something to watch this year hopefully all will be well for you. Congrats on the smoking did you wean yourself off the cigs with those E-Fags as I call them? Thankyou so much No Kathy I actually stopped smoking cold turkey, so to spk with nothing, but I have C.O.P.D due to many years smoking and in January 2020 i became very, very poorly with my chest, my family and I wonder whether it was COVID now but at the time the doctors was just associating covid if you’d been to China lately, which I hadn’t, however my boss had been on cruise at Christmas and then all her staff became ill, some worse than others, including me, however as I suffer lung problems I got really poorly, it wasn’t until end of feb before I started to feel anything like normal, January was just a blur. I had my regular check with my respiratory nurse and she said unless I stopped smoking like there and then i would have a 50/50 chance of seeing past 2years apparently my lung function was 47% and knowing I had a granddaughter due in April I knew I had to do something, even if I could see her for a short while It has been the best decision, I feel so well and loving being a Nanna 👵 I know it’s hard for some people to comprehend but unless anyone has smoked they would never know just how hard it is to stop. Oh I did listen to a thing on YouTube though Kathy, it had 5 star reviews and I was very sceptical but I gave it a listen with my headphones in (it was a therapist) so whether that did any good, who knows so Kathy, these birds are really testing my will power Elle xx

Everyone, what can I say, I was convinced the female had packed her bags and moved out, well she did , but then she didn’t move far, she’s only gone and built her nest in the box which I thought was going to be the ‘decoy’ box. I have to say though it has been a rollercoaster, and at one point I was dancing with her cos I swear she was doing the Hokey Cokey, In out, In out, shake it all about!! In a way I’m glad she’s picked this box on the fence cos we are having our extension roof redone in the middle of may and they would have put scaffolding up the wall which would have covered the box on house wall (angle box). She’s built this nest in a few days and has brought feathers in today and started sleeping in already, which I don’t think has happened this quick. I think this maybe a new mum cos yesterday I would have sworn she’d laid an egg on wooden floor, but there were still a lot of wood showing in the nest cup, but today, lots of feathers and she’s in nest cup tonight. Don’t actually know what’s going on forgot to mention there was a fight with this fellow first before the bluetit won, they had locked on claws and spiralling all over the garden, it wasn’t pleasant to watch as they both lay on grass exhausted. Bluetits always rule in this garden whenever they’ve been at loggerheads in the past. Elle xx

Well she obviously heard you talking about the extension and thought ‘bu**er that’ and has decided other box much better option . Hopefully, she is settled now. Shows how fast they can work when they want to. Let us know if there are any more twists to this tale. Hate seeing birds fight, but amazing how little blue tits often win the battle. Sue

Great stuff Elle. As you say, better there than underneath some scaffolding in May - that might not have ended well!

Hi folks well you’ll all be glad to know my female (whom I haven’t named) as of today is currently on 6 eggs, now I don’t know if she would of laid a 7th tonight before bed or whether she’ll lay her 7th in morn. I see her flying sometime with her partner so up to now they are still a pair, although she’s literally out from morn till about 6.45pm he often has come back a couple of times in the afternoon to bring her food but she’s nowhere to be seen. This was this morning wonder how many she’ll have? Elle xx
