I have no activity in my boxes this year, nothing in my garage bird box, since the box fight! I still have have my great tit rooster in the tree box, but I don’t really see them much during the day, so if it is anything like last year, the female disappeared and nested elsewhere. I did have a coal tit check out the tree box yesterday. I am overrun with hedgehogs, all 4 of my houses are being used, some with a few in them. I am also please to see the smaller ones from last year have made an appearance......so no birds just loads of hedgehogs

Amanda great to see you back with your lovely photo's your photography is admirable! I have never seen a Black Cap we don't get them where I am. The Woodpecker is so gorgeous I can hear them tapping sometimes when I walk in our bluebell woodland. Good luck to you with any potential nests.

Lovely little video Amanda. They look like a proper couple. Hopefully it's just this freezing weather that's put a damper on things for the moment

A lot of great tits have second broods Amanda so there is always a chance you will get a GT start nesting around June July in the box your rooster is in.

Sorry I haven’t been on very much. I hope you are all well and plenty of nests on the go! just a quick update, my great tit rooster moved out a couple of weeks ago Just before I started work this morning, I noticed a couple of blue tits, both poked their heads in the box and one went in for a while. I put my iPad on for the morning while I was working and they were in and out for an hour, one brought in a few beaks of moss. This is in my tree box. I have had no visits to my garage box since a massive fight a while ago, I had a nest in this last year.

Things are looking up Amanda! How does this compare with the start date for nesting in the past with you?

Things are looking up Amanda! How does this compare with the start date for nesting in the past with you? Matt, last year, nesting started on the 1st April, so this is late compared to last year. I’ve only had 1 nest, so not too much to compare with. I had half a nest made in my tree box but it was the same birds that were nesting in my garage box. I wonder if this is a back up box for this pair
