Thanks Diane That’s the way it goes, I put a box up yesterday at my sons new house, he has had a great tit look and a blue tit go in for several mins, I hope he gets a nest for first time ever, it’s just a cheap box but let’s see what happens

Oh Ann, I feel your pain . You never know, it could still happen, some have had nests start much later than this. Keep the faith Ann, I shall be keeping everything crossed for you . A big hug from me. Sue

Thanks Sue We will enjoy the nests on here , I love coming on to see the news from everyone The weather is so awful and cold here,❄️ we’re had two heavy snow flurries yesterday, I expect it’s the same for all places,no wonder the birds have put things on hold for now

Ann, Wouldn't you try another "log" box next year? I know they have been successful for you, Maybe the blue tits in your area like the more natural nest if you said nobody else got boxes they can only be nesting naturally!
Might be worth a try knowing your last 2 nests was in a log box

Hi Paul The wrens were in a wooden flat roof box with a hole not an open box and two years ago the blue tits had a log box I’m quite certain the great tits do natural habitat ever year and I have a feeling the blue tits may have this time they flew over the fence with nesting material but the garden has no bird box non of gardens have boxes I will try and see where they go
My side view box hasn’t been used once in three years but I have had nests in the same position before I will consider it for next year Paul,

Might be worth trying Ann, I can remember you having two nests in your log box back to back before you took it down don't think you've had a nest since have you blue tit wise? So could be well worth looking into, Seems like something they like in your area!

Yes you are right Paul, I had forgotten the one in 2018 and in z2019 I had blue tit in log box and wren in wooden box same year, so is it a pattern two years on and two off, if I thought I’d have chance I would buy a log box and swap a box
