Update from North Yorks, chicks are now 9 and 10 days old, both parents very attentive, feeding regularly and Kate is keeping the nest nice and clean, I am still to see all 8 in one go since they have grown, I see 6 most often so I hope the 2 are ok

Great video Karen. As I keep pausing it I am sure I can count 8 gapes - definitely 7 anyway. Hopefully all present and correct. Sue

Looking good Karen! It is so hard to count them sometimes, only now can I usually get clear eyeball on all 7 of mine. For a while I was convinced I might have 8!

Morning all, at some point we have lost 2 chicks , I havnt always had it on record so she may have dragged them out at some point, there were 8 on the 30 May when they were 5 and 6 days old but now we are 6 for definite as they are leaving the cup to go walkabout now and it is clear to see. Such a shame not sure what happened but the remaining 6 are all looking good.

Such a game when some die for no apparent reason. Great news that the remaining 6 look well though.

Well some of mine will be on day 23 tomorrow Karen, so you never know! Fingers crossed for you that you get to see it, or at least see some of the chicks in your garden when you get back. So long as they fledge safely is the main thing.
