My lips are sealed Karen! Boxes looking good and ready to go! Do you have any bushes/cover you can hide the robin box in? Not that I've ever had a robin nest box, but everything I've read says they like them hidden away in the bushes so that is what I have done with mine. Yours looks a little exposed?

yes, Robins certainly like bushes, especially ivy, each year they use the same place and have several broods, in the bush over the boundary fence near my garden, this year I've hidden a brought crock kettle robin nest and laid it in the box hedge in my garden in hope.

Everything looks great Karen, so glad a rooster turned up too! I'm sure you'll get something nesting next year in your boxes as they are des-res, but I do agree about your robin nest being very exposed. We have robins nesting in our very thick Red Robin bushes every year & they can't be seen at all except by me when I have crafty peeks. Last month I hid a child's metal watering can deep inside my Californian Lilac bush, managed to secure it safely so it stays upright (scratched to death in the process) & of course it won't heat up with the sun shining on it - so I'm keeping it may be used.

Thanks all, I swear I didnt go near that box next door! With regards to the Robin box I put it there as the bush in font of it is very thick and hides it away down the side of the summer house, but I feel it does need to be nestled into something, I have a honeysuckle and a ivy that are getting thicker and also a evergreen bush so will see about moving it.

Are you going to put a camera in the Robin box Karen?

I do have a spare one Matt, so if once moved if interest is shown then I can fit one quite quickly. I think I will put in the ivy, it has some thickness to it, and is relatively safe area from cats, I ill pop some pics up once moved, see what you all think.

So I have relocated the robin box in the ivy, I hope the ivy will grow around it and conceal it more, its close enough to the house that I can run my spare camera to also if I am lucky enough to get interest,

The box looks great Karen & although very exposed at the moment, the ivy will grow around it. I don't know about you but at the moment all my ivies are in full flower & they start their new spurt of growth in February.

Hello all. hope your all enjoying the festivities. I turned my camera on today and had some visits to the tree box, from a very scruffy looking BT, very distinct feathers on his head, will post a pic of him later on. Rooster still comes in each night. The ivy is beginning to conceal the robin box nicely. Thats my quick news update, see you all in 2021
