They're getting so big Ann! Box is north facing, so shouldn't have got too much sun on it - just a bit at the end of the day, but not as hot then. Was a hot one here today though!

Matt - thanks for all of these lovely piccies of the family, I love the one where they are singing Thank goodness your box doesn't get the hot sun on it to "fry" them all, so good was definitely on your side there.

Seven fat little babies tonight. I'm out of mealworms - panic! - hopefully the new ones will arrive tomorrow. She has become very reliant on them, I fear.

Awe such sweethearts hope your worms come Matt, I know what you mean regarding them becoming reliant on them, but I dont think its a bad thing, humans have damaged the planet by our actions and the least we can do is lend a hand to these creatures who share the Earth with us. My two are getting very familiar with me topping up the feeder, they know I go to the shed to get the worms and fill their dish up and they have taken to sitting on the shed door when open to watch me then proceed to follow me to he feeder in the tree they are so near to me it is lovely I have just ordered some more also they soon go through it

Not much to report here, all babies doing fine it seems, and new mealworm order arrived yesterday. They are a little larger than the first few orders, but seem just about manageable for the chicks. Did have some stream issues yesterday (internet trouble), so a new link for you. I think they could well be gone in 3-4 days.. but also

Glad they tolerate the bigger worms Matt, I need more meal worms and was thinking about getting the standard size, will give them a go I think. I will be watching your stream to try and catch a glimpse of them fledging. I am away around the time mine are due, I really hope I am back before they go to keep an eye out for them as there are loads of cats around here.

I think standard size might be on the large size, Karen, but worth a go if they are out of minis. Minis are (I think?) two sizes smaller than standard, but mine have come at about 2cm long, which is bigger than advertised. She is feeding them OK, though, so maybe even bigger would be OK, too. They do look big when she brings them in tho! Makes you realise how small the chicks actually are still.

Hi Matt The chicks will soon be leaving especially the biggest one he looks ready to go.at least the weather will be good for them. they will be jumping up at the hole to get their food soon, lots of wing strengthening going on. you will enjoy seeing them around the garden, mum will have less work in the outdoors she’s busy with the poo sacs this morning🤠She’s done an amazing job

Think mum is slowly coaxing them to the hole she seems to stop in the hole with food then drop into the nest, I think your right Sue it won’t be long before they start leaving maybe over the next 24 hours or so you will miss them Matt one is very keen to explore
