Well she wasn't around after yesterday morning, or this morning much, but she has suddenly resumed frantic activity this afternoon. Not running the stream at the moment, but I am getting the occasional nice still photo of her in the box, like this one below. Fingers still well and truly crossed! Interestingly, I saw a bluetit take some dog fur from a bundle I have hung from a tree. My guess is that this was Elvira, and the female building in my box is not. I can't be sure, of course..   |

I don't think its a second female, Ann - I think she is just very fussy! She has taken loads out over the last few days, but since yesterday afternoon has brought far more in! I did see Tony (mark above beak, a bit bigger than Elvira) take some stuff out earlier, but mostly I think it is her.. Tony is back on the scene big time today, after only seeing him a couple of times over the last week. Perhaps he has decided to devote his attentions to Elvira full time? I'm pretty sure he has another female on the go (have seen the 3 together), perhaps even the original Elvira!

Thanks Ann. Yes, very quiet since this morning - she is certainly very fickle. At least half (more?) of yesterday's material removed this morning. Tony has been in a few times this afternoon, and also outside the box calling, but Elvira has not been seen.
