In and out a lot this morning, Paul, and actually brought material in on a few occasions. Not seen for a few hours now, but still seems keen I think? Certainly not a super fast worker, anyway. |

I am glad material is still coming in, Our second female in your stone box been bringing some material in today.
When I say some that is about 2 pieces of moss haha so she isn't a fast worker either, Maybe its the weather? God knows once proper building starts for her i'll do a proper update!

Yes Karen, insofar as he around at all! I have only seen him a couple of times around the box, and only once or twice inside it. He did go in yesterday with a little grub in his beak, which he then ate himself before leaving!
Female is still doing lots of visits but not much building. I still have the notification count going on, and had over 50 visits triggered by the time I got up this morning (bit of a lie in!), but very little material added - she normally enters with nothing in her beak. I've only got one nest to compare to, but my first bird was far faster when building. Still just a scattering of moss and grass on the base of the box.

Sounding good Matt, if he went into feed her the bond is strong and she is happy with the box it seems so normal service should resume.

Well she wasn't actually in there at the time, but perhaps he thought she might be? In any case, he decided to eat it himself once he was inside  |

That's all good news Matt. The male does feed the female as part of the courtship bonding so looks like things are serious  . I've had nests built that took forever and some (starting later) that were complete in a couple of days. |

I've been holding off posting for a bit, Karen, because I didn't want to keep posting the "will she, won't she" stuff! Friday she came a load of times in the morning, but didn't do any building, and then disappeared from about 10am for the rest of the day. Yesterday (Saturday) she came early but didn't build, and then after lunch she got really busy and brought loads of moss in. This morning she came early again, and took nearly everything out!! Since then she has brought quite a bit of new stuff in, and has now gone AWOL for the past few hours (they often seem to knock off over a long lunch!). So I hope she really is committed, but even at this stage I am still keeping my fingers crossed Anyway, here is the live stream link which I have been experimenting with over the last couple of days. Loving having the live feed Matt - well, when we can see anything lol. Hope that pesky wasp soon disappears, but nest coming along nicely. Really pleased for you.

Wasp has gone, Sue - thank goodness! No sign of Elvira at all though since lunchtime, so rather a boring feed I'm afraid. Hopefully she will be back in the morning, but there have been so many twists and turns in this saga already that I am literally not counting on anything anymore!!

She's definitely trying my patience, Sue - that's for sure! Actually I am fairly relaxed about it now - I've had plenty of excitement for one season, so if she carries on, then great, but I try not to worry about it every morning now! She had another fairly quiet day, after taking a load of material out this morning, she brought a fair bit back in and then went off for the rest of the day about mid morning. Not seen her for a while, but I do wonder if this cold weather is just holding them back from fully committing. It looks like a return to slightly more normal spring-like conditions in a few days..

its so crazy isn’t it, mine took the material in & out about 6 times and I mean fully empty. On one day she filled it to nearly finished, and emptied, filled it again, next time I looked 1/2 hour later, all gone. I really do think it’s weather related. Don’t give up yet Matt
