few clips put together from this mornings visits (still visiting now although its minus 2 and windy) first 2 clips are female cleaning the box, next one is male bringing peacock in (our roosting female who stays in this box) next clip is male alone and final clip is peacock in the box alone for nearly 1 minute. Don't think I have ever had so much activity in such cold weather they must be wanting the season to start heres the video anyway

Great clip Paul can you send some of your luck to me, nothing happening here to do with boxes I’m waiting for cold snap to go in the Hope of an interest Plenty of blue tits and great tits about on the feeders and singing well Don't worry too much, I think the cold has got them hiding everywhere, except Paul's garden of course! I haven't seen a sign of a bluetit anywhere in the garden for about a week - not even on the feeders. I don't know where they go when it gets cold and windy around here, but I do know it is not in my boxes either

Hi Matt Yes it’s sure the cold weather putting a stop to any activity to the boxes.Let’s hope the warmer week ahead will give us some action we are longing for.Think we need it more this year than any other. Paul certainly has a wonderful garden and lots of success with his birds visiting no matter what the weather. Let’s hope we have something good to post this week,

The boxes are quiet here too, the feeders are busy though, definitely the cold has distracted them from house hunting. Next week much milder so hopefully will pick up again

Don't know about elsewhere but my boxes are getting crazy levels of visits this morning! We have had visits to the "Wall box" this morning/ I think its a new male from the back garden (wall box is on the front of the house) I was abit worried about this box because with the flat roof boxes its got a large window on the roof this box is right up against the eves of the house so it doesn't get half the natural light the tree box gets, I haven't put an led light init aswell to have the option of turning that on (might do next year), However the quality and picture is still good for the limited lightening etc. I do have two male roosters still at the moment, So it looks like this one is using my front boxes to attract females and one male is over the back garden time will tell. Its been none stop here today though!

Spring is in the air Paul! It was here, too, until about an hour ago when it started raining - had a few visits before that, also a starling popped his head into the starling box (they have been a bit quiet recently). We are supposed to be getting 17c and sun down here at the weekend!

Spring is in the air down here in Cornwall too. Regular visits to our patio (roosting) box and tentative inspections of the ones on the other side of the garden. When will those wriggles start I wonder.

Hi Paul Do you still have the wren around your garden ? I ,wonder if they will return this year to the open nesting box. I’ve been on the lookout for my pr of wrens, I saw both recently and usually see one most days, we will sit and watch and see if they nest build in one of my boxes again It was two years ago when it was so hot the chicks didn’t survive.

Little visit from the male this morning (barely see him females bring themselves in) had around 25 visits to the box already this morning still got the female roosting each night aswell.
Ann, I have seen the wrens about yes! Infact he was checking out one of my new open front boxes yesterday by the pond, I'd love them to nest again this year but we will see, How about in your garden? you seen many?

Not much to really report here, The tree box is still getting alot of visits daily and the female is still roosting. box is being kept spotless, I probably won't update now until the first material comes in to one of the boxes all the videos be samey otherwise. At the moment my concrete 3 hole box is being cleaned out (got a rooster still) and one of my side boxes as been totally cleaned out. I know our males got two females at the moment so we will see what happens! Here's a video of one of the visits this morning, Females come in really early cleaning around 7:30am etc.

I believe it Paul Good to hear there is a bit of activity in the concrete box, and that you are still busy with visits generally. Rather slow here today, but the weather has turned cold and gloomy again (freezing outside!!). The good news is that Tony popped into his usual box, albeit briefly and without Elvira. Not a lot of activity from the sparrows today, but a brief (half hearted) attempt to lure a female inside for a minute or so this morning (she perched outside, but didn't venture in).

So, I think the birds are testing me this year. I officially have my "first material" in one of my flat roof boxes, However its one that is just on my telly with no recorder and not one of my HD ip cameras. You couldn't make it up could you? And gardenature have no stock of the ip cameras until April so it will be to far into nest building by then But here is the first material, I am off out for the day so can't even watch the telly and record on my iphone to see who it is. EDIT - One blue tit just come in before I was about to go out, Sorry for the sh*t quality nothing on my ip cameras sadly with recording it off the tv screen on my iphone but yes here is the video.

Hi Paul good to see the first material in the box, I knew your birds would be the first to lead. It’s throwing down here, all quiet hopefully the weather improves over the day and activity starts

Wow great news Paul, apart from not being in your ip box. Thought I saw a blue ring on its leg but I was mistaken.
