After all these years I've finally found a nest that the dunnocks have used thus year. I thought last week that they had fledged as it had gone very quiet so I stealthily crept to the tiny conifer they had chosen. I just had to gently ease the branches apart and there it was complete with gaping chicks so I gently made a swift exit.. I've been listening ever since to make sure they had fledged before I dared look again and this is what I found. So either they have started again or this one never hatched.

Thanks Paul....yes probably first thing I do tomorrow 🤞👍I need to read up on dunnock nesting habits now. I have by chance invested in a tiny very cheap camera that can be clipped to a branch. No idea how good they are and if it's coming from China then it'll be a while before I can test it🤣

Still just the one egg this morning so probably an unhatched one from the previous clutch. At least I know where they nested this year🤣
