Great videos, he is a cutie! I had a small one visit lastnight that would fit in the palm of your hand, i hope he comes tonight and i will try and get a pic. I agree with Paul, you start with one and before you know it you have several! I have 3 hog hotels in total which are used regularly. Just love seeing them, although our dog doesnt like them too much and can smell them a mile away and lets us know when one has arrived!

It made me laugh to Paul. I know of two but may be more. I have one who pops in the house for an early nap about 9.30 and then again I think the same one came in about 5 and slept till 7.30 is in the morning and then left? I'm not very good at identifying them yet.

Most of mine do that aswell Sammi, Just have naps in the hog houses and gone by dawn. I think when they start trusting the garden more and the house they will start spending the day in the house for you that is what happened here!
What trail camera did you end up getting?

I got the mini Apeman and it seems fine. I just need to get the angle right to get the best view. Bird boxes going back up this week now the fence has been fixed including the lovely side view painted in Cornish colours.

This is Stripey having a good stretch after his nap. He now has 2 stripes? Not sure if they are permanent marking or not? Any ideas? P.s. I have just asked on the Hedgehog forum and seems the stripes are caused by self anointing so maybe not so good to identify individuals unless we have just one who does it🤣

I cleaned out the box from last year and put some fresh hay in and it looks like I may have go get another box. This ended eventually after a while with the second visitor leaving the spiky ball to slowly uncurl. It's lovely to have them back in the garden. I'm hoping to do a better job of seeing where they come into the garden and where they stay in the daytime. I don't think it's far away.

Lovely so pleased you have your hoggies back. I wonder where mine go in the day too, I know they travel quite a distance on a night to find food. A second box would be beneficial I have two in the back one in the front so hopefully everyone is catered for.

There were 2 in the box again last night and a game of push and roll I may be looking for another box. Which one is a good hibernating box? This one wasn't used for hibernating but it may be a position thing so I was going to get another and try it so somewhere quieter.

The riverside gold have been great for hibernation in my garden Sammi, I bought three last year in autumn and ended up with all 3 being hibernated in. Hedgehog rescue brand them the best boxes for hibernation aswell, Although abit pricey - www.riversidewoodcraft.co.uk/hedgehog-houses/hedgehog-house-riverside-gold-plus-free-foodIf you can have the back of the hog house against the wall apparently they feel safer! Also really pack it with hay in the autumn, You won't see nothing on camera but this is how they like it packed to the very top with hay so you literally can't fix anymore inside and its hanging out.

I still love just these simple snips of our hog. He popped in for an early nap about 9.30 pm after being missing for a couple of nights.
