Well Sammi - I love the clip of the lovely & hope he keeps visiting. As for the 2nd clip, don't get me started on cats!

Yes Diane we battle with the neighbourhood cats when it comes to birds but the hogs take no notice of them and vice versa it seems. I was amazed how that one bent himself around the corner to get to the food. The house now has an extra baffle and hopefully the food is safe. I've moved my bird feeder to the front of the house. We can't watch them from the lounge any more but they are safe from the most determined bird hunting cat I've ever known ☹

I had no idea their legs were so long. Very useful for scratching that itch

Yes I am over the moon that we are getting nightly visits. The main food station is the brick and paving slab one. I put a few biscuits in the house just to get the used to it really. One seemed to rest there for a while last night after his snack. I might have to rethink the camera though. At the moment its borrowed from one of the bird boxes. 👍

Hilarious Sammi I wish I had longer arms so that I could scratch my back! Good news that you're getting nightly visits too.

Thanks folks. I must admit the visits are keeping our minds focused on the nicer things happening. I'm thinking tonight I'll just keep the food in the brick feeding station as it may discourage the deposits they leave behind🦔😟 and make it more welcoming as a full time home. It will also be easier to clean. Last night the visiting hog had a bit of a rest and almost fell asleep 🤞 We only put a little home grown straw in to start. Not sure if we should buy some bedding or not? Decisions, decisions 🤣

I just buy meadow hay for mine Sammi, I get a big 3kg bag from pets at home for £3.99. Does all of my hog houses plus I have some left over for when cleaning out or topping up! You might be able to find it on amazon or ebay for cheap but if you have a pets at home local just go and pick one up saves the postage costs etc.

Thanks Paul. Will do that. Just tonight I'd just put some food out and set the trail cam and come back in to put the dvr on when he popped into the house ( no food in tonight) he had a look around and then headed out to the food station. He spent ages in there and I fully expected him to set off somewhere else when he emerged but mo he went straight back into the house and settled down for an hour's nap. It was still light when he first appeared so he was waiting till it went dark I suppose. We did get a lovely pic of him though. It's on hubby's camera so will have to transfer that tomorrow. Happy days🙂

Yes Diane he is very lovable even with his fleas Here he is the other night when his clock must have been fast. He went for his dinner and then popped into the house for a long nap till later. Last night we caught two on the trail cam and my husband heard him scratching about 9 pm over by a pile of logs we leave just for this very purpose. For so long I'd wondered if anyone had made use of it?

Sammi, please tell your husband that the photo he took is wonderful - it shows the layout of where all your things are. Perhaps the second one is his best friend, but whatever it's great that you have two of them now.

Only two of mine really get along these two, Both sleeping in the boxes next to eachother. I don't think they have left my garden for over a month now literally come out eat drink poo wee and sleep all day got it made

Yes Paul it is so good to see them interact. I struggle to get good outside footage. I need to experiment with the position of the trail cam. Of course now I'm wondering if I need another hog house. 🦔🦔🤣 No doubt it won't be long 😂 Yours look very happy and chilled.🤣

You'll have more than 1 in the end Sammi, I got one now I have 5 Its abit like bird boxes, Summer isn't really that busy for the hog either because so much natural food about, Wait until we get to late September and the nights are getting colder. You'll be getting new ones every night and late season hoglets
